What bugs me the most is his constant haranging of CS, who by all accounts, is innocent in all this. He seems to be a young, warm, passionate, talented singer who's just following his dream to play with guys he's always admired. It's sick, no it's psychotic, to incessantly redicule the guy. I will continue to defend and support CS against whatever Nick has to throw at him. So childish.

CCP put him in that position by placing a man with very average talent into the role he has been thrust in. If Chris Shinn was working with Ed, people on here would be knocking his lack of talent(just as they did with Ed's bandmates).

Ed gets ridiculed on this board in a way that is way more personal and harsh than I ever mentioned CCCP. It is a total double standard.

Well ... no that's not exactly true, when it was first stated that it might be him I went and checked him out and the Everything is Energy album really grabbed me, and that was long before things sort of became over the top clear that it was going to be him. Jesus the mere fact you're gonna sit here and tell people, dictate to people that they wouldn't like Shinn if it weren't for CCP shows you've just gone off the deep end. You're fucking insane. You seriously sit there and create these little scenarios that you just decide in your head is fact. CCP introduced me to Shinn, or at least when the rumour hit they introduced him to me by proxy, so I wouldn't have known of him otherwise, but that's just introduced me to some new music that I like. No man seriously, the way you just decide what you think is fact and stick to it, and try to pass it off as fact, is just screwy in the head. Get help, seriously. Like not even joking, you have issues. Oh wait, you're going to tell me "no I don't, you don't know that!" .. well guess what moron, you don't know what you just tried to pass off as a fact is true then.

Anyways, you're in no position to talk about average talent, you wouldn't know talent if it bit you on the ass. Leave the music to the music fans, accountant.

Chris's new album is leaps and bounds beyond Alive. Is he more talented? Probably not but he also does not have an ego that prohibits him from making the most of his talents. His songs are great, the level of musicianship is great and his vocals are spot on for his songs. It just works. EK's material doesn't. it's weak. Live with Chris will work much better than it did with Ed for the last few albums, which obviously were mostly EK alone.

Anyone can sound okay with studio magic behind them but Chris Shinn lacks the vocals and stage presence needed to be a great frontman for LIVE on stage. If you want a legacy act, you got one.

Youre smoking crack son. Shinn has talent...talent that's never gotten a decent chance. Have you gone and listened to all his records and songs....you can on you tube. They are there. Surprised, as his softer stuff is full of emotion and energy....like the stuff you profess to adore.

While you're smoking that crack, take some heroin in your arm too.

There is no double standard. Ed hates his success....it's the only thing I can think of why he thought taking over (other than being a control freak)......care to dispell that?

Ed gets ridiculed because most of us who saw Ed when he was great sell himself out for personal gain and recognition.....he's only got it because he was part of the 4/4 Live dynamic.

This is why we bust on him and his 'solo' career. Full Stop!!!

Tell yourself what you want.....self fulfilling beliefs are fine....free speech is fine too....guess what....most of us don't see it your way for more realistic reasons. You are looking at it from the money counter perspective.

OTD Nooooooo!! Don't engage Ned again...same played out, tired old story w/ him. I've really enjoyed seeing "You've chosen to ignore all posts from SJN" when I logged in. It's really nice to see that constant, draining negativity gone.

CS is so refreshingly normal and natural. Ed has always creeped me out since I saw video clips of him performing. I'm really glad that I got to love LIVE music before I ever caught sight of Ed coz he is one egotistical creep during performance.

CS looks like a guy on stage having fun and performing. Natural. In the moment. Ed looks like every single thing he does is rehearsed, no spontinaity, going through the motions... No thankyou!

I do like it when Ed gets his shirt off.

But I will admit that during his solo gigs he was much more down to earth....just a couple of weird moments.

I listened to Everything Is Energy last night in the car. Months ago when I first listened to it, I didn't really get turned on by it. But last night I was really getting into it. I was hearing quite a bit of a Smashing Pumkins vibe to it. I especially liked Curve of the Earth. I LOVE the vocals and the heavy guitars on that one. When he screams in that song, you really feel it. I hope that Chris uses those angst-filled, passionate vocals on the Live album.

While I actually like Chris's voice, I honestly didnt care for his solo album, and Unified Theory didn't grab me too much. Still I think his voice is a good fit for Live, and I've been optimistic that he's a great fit. I hadn't heard any of Everything is Energy before, but I just had a listen to Curve of the Earth on the myspace page. very decent! anyone know where I can get a copy of the album? $99 on amazon marketplace is ridonculous.
