Hehehe – that one is funny. I’ve always thought Chris was relatively attractive, but next to Ed, Chris looked puny and pasty…almost sickly. Ed looked hot, actually - all tan (compared to Chris, anyway) and clean-shaven. Ed definitely came out ahead on that match up!

I really like the hairless thing he’s working right now… I would imagine that it’s nice not to have body hair when you’re on stage running around sweating under all those lights. cool.gif

I think they all both very very good looking nod.gif

He's much taller than you think. 6' 1" ish.

I don't know where I got the idea that he was smaller in stature - maybe it's just that he looked small because the stage was so large - plus, he was running around with this huge feather boa that night. It might also be that my perception of height in men is skewed – my husband is 6’3, 215lbs and my hs/college boyfriend was 6’6, 240lbs. shrug.gif

Anyway...not important, but nice to know. Thanks!

Been busy, so forgive me I am catching up on a several pages of this thread...

QUOTE(tswart1 @ May 25 2006, 4:21 pm) *

It appeared Chris had to read something.

QUOTE(mfitz804 @ May 25 2006, 7:19 pm) *

That did not bother me, since he was in fact singing a song that hasn't even been released yet in the US.

Ummm not to burst anyone's bubble but Ed had the lyrics to both Walk the Line and Simple Creed printed out and taped to the stage during the Denver show last week.

QUOTE(livefan1999 @ May 26 2006, 1:01 am) *

This was funny, too. It was in nj.com, The New Jersey Ledger.

8:14: Chris Daughtry performs with his favorite band, Live, whose cover of "Walk the Line" he used on'50s Night. He looks and sounds like a miniature version of Live singer Ed Kowalczyk; maybe they can bring him on tour in a case that reads, "In case of frontman emergency, break glass."

CLASSIC!!! lol.gif That is hysterical.

I would have to agree. I am about 6'3" and Ed is a few inches short than me.

From IMDB, funny how they don't mention Live ;-(

'American Idol' Star-Studded Finale

Alabama soul man Taylor Hicks was crowned the fifth American Idol in Hollywood Wednesday night after a winning the majority of a staggering 63.4 million votes. The grey-haired singer beat California girl Katharine McPhee in the star-studded two-hour finale at the Kodak Theatre, which was capped by a surprise appearance from Prince. He wasn't the only celebrity performer to grace the stage at the final - Toni Braxton, Al Jarreau, Mary J Blige and Meat Loaf also dueted with their favorite Idols, while Dionne Warwick teamed up with Burt Bacharach for a medley of "Walk On By" and "That's What Friends Are For," backed by the show's finalists. Hicks, 29, joins past winners Kelly Clarkson, Ruben Studdard, Fantasia and Carrie Underwood and was handed the keys to a Ford Mustang as a finalist and a new record contract as the 2006 American Idol

Yes, I met Ed at a bar a few years back and was surprised at how tall he was. I am 5'11" and he was a few inches taller than me. AT least 6'1"

Yeah – obviously I like ‘em lenghty… nod.gif
I’m only 5’6 though, so I do a lot of tippy toes and neck craning.

No, he isn't 6'1"

I am 6'0 and when I met him he stood about an inch shorter. So he is probably about 5'11"

This is a quote from a baseball blog. Hopefully he'll be proven wrong on his opinion of the potential success of the song, but I enjoyed his description of Ed...........

The guy who should have won the contest, Chris Daughtry, was up next and he joined the band Live in a strong duet of some new song from the band that no one will ever hear again on network TV or commercial radio. (I'm not gay, but ... alert!) Is there any guy sporting a bald head who looks cooler than singer Ed Kowalczyk? He was like a cross between Andre Agassi and the villian from the movie The Mummy.

If anyone wants to register and let him know that the song will be on Ellen next week (that's national tv) and how well it's doing, http://thejuice.baseballtoaster.com/archives/386404.html

QUOTE(tswart1 @ May 25 2006, 1:30 am) *

They would not care what or who Chris was singing with.

Well, myself and my wife are fans of Chris and had previously never heard of Live. We thought Chris was great but were blown away by the guy he was singing with. A few minutes on the web and we now know he's called Ed, the band is called Live and they have an new album just out. So I've ordered the album plus Awake - the best of Live.

I for one am very grateful they appeared on AI, otherwise I may well have never come across this band. I can't wait for the albums to arrive and hear more of their tracks. thumbsup.gif

Welcome to the board! I am certain if you like "Mystery" you will really enjoy the new album, and I don't know how anyone could dislike Awake, it has all the classics on it.
