As for this, obviously I'm not possum, but I can answer that I just don't think Ed has the right style for the band anymore. His take on Believe (which became Honest Man) was dreadful, and he hasn't been a part of a song that I've enjoyed in years. I think his style and tastes have changed, and he now wants to make pop music. That's fine, but that's not what Live is and it isn't what Live should ever be. I'd rather him do what he is most passionate about, which is decidedly pop/rock based on SFBM and his solo efforts. Add in the Christian angle that he has taken including changing the lyrics to old songs, and you've got a guy who I don't want to see fronting Live.

I agree with this 100%. I've also been a fan since the early 90's and like I've said before, I ADORED Ed at one time. But his 'spark', what made him special started to fade after TDTH. He got very 'poppy' and I hated it. It was hard to watch someone I loved destroy the band that I loved so much. And his voice was a lot of what made it so special for me. Now, honestly anything post TDTH is like nails on a chalkboard to me. Sad, but true.

My husband (who never liked Live) and I were talking about this last night and he said 'wouldn't most fans want him back no matter what?' I said' not the ones with taste or the ones who really appreciated Live when it was at it's most taltented'. Certainly not me!

I think that you, and many of the people here, need to understand that LIVE isn't the guys first priority anymore. They have a lot of shit going on business wise obviously and I personally think they are becoming businessmen primarily. Live is something they seem to want to keep on with as a hobby, something they can enjoy. But it just isn't their entire life and focus anymore and we all need to get used to that.

I'm betting we won't get to see them tour for a long time to come. I hear they've got a lot of stuff going on business wise and I think that's great. They just don't want to depend on LIVE'S well being anymore for their financial stability to be dependent on it.

So seriously, quit getting all wound up about it. When it happens it happens. But expect it to happen slowly. With all the legal bullshit and the business stuff on the side, Live isn't the focus anymore. I wouldn't be surprised if there wasn't much promotion at all for the new album. I think they just care about putting out good music and rebuilding their musical careers slowly around some good solid rock music for the next few years.

Don't expect ANY big radio promotion or ANY extensive touring because those things aren't likely to happen. CC&P are involved in that business deal in York amongst many others. CT seems intent on signing new talent and maybe producing some new bands himself when his dream studio becomes fully functional.

I simply wouldn/t expect to see LIVE anytime soon.

That is somewhat disheartening. Maybe it is just me but an album of "We will get around to it when we get around to it." makes me cringe.

It just went from the excuse we made for them of "taking their time to get it right" to "they will do it when they have the time. You guys just sit in the dark and be quiet."

Honestly, this is all just stupid. This forum, the Live website, the lack of communication and updates in this day and age (I hope PD or whoever it was is okay and didn't hurt himself or waste his entire day giving us that one sentence update yesterday) is all just ridiculous.

I doubt they are "playing it close to the vest". That is just another excuse we've made for them. They flat out don't have the time or the desire. I mean, seriously? Can't take 1 minute to tweet out an update more than once every two/three weeks? Are you kidding me? I'm just not buying it. And even if they are "playing it close to the vest" that itself is stupid. There is literally no point in doing that. The only thing it accomplishes is people not hearing about Live.

The only thing left that is worth a damn is Fish's website. At least it is well thought out and executed nicely. Freaks4Live has become an advertising board for Xanax and 20 types of pills that make your dick hard. What a fucking joke. This place is laughable and awful. Yesterday the top 10 threads were all spiraling arguments of bullshit. I sat for two days reading and watching. I was hoping there would be something that would be worth posting about. Nothing. Just the same bullshit and a meaningless update considering the above quote.

As far as Ed and his antics, they aren't even worth a rant. He is trash and so is his mouthpiece, Nick. Nick, I am glad you get to use a keyboard and don't have to talk to these people face to face because no one could understand you with how far you have Ed's dick down your throat. You are a sad child.

dangum, please delete my account here. I couldn't find where to do it.

zman, please do the same on thegraciousfans.com

Strange...I feel like a giant and terrible weight has been lifted off my shoulders. How liberating. victory.gif

This was a year ago and recent events dictate otherwise. No one. An 'reach' Ed.

It means that he's off his rocker and it's to late to help bring back his sanity.

So when do CCP and Ed finally sit down and settle their differences like men?

Well considering Ed stole from them and denied it like a coward I don't see it happening anytime soon.

There were personal attempts to contact Ed to try to resolve the situation made long ago and they were ignored . Are the remaining members now supposed to bow down now that it seems that Ed has changed his tune ? Give in , just like creative control was relinquished within the band , because Ed has implied that he is now open to a reunion - after he has been replaced and after a lawsuit has been filed against him ? I could say so much more in regard to how all of this portrays Mr. Kowalczyk but ... Although this is an interesting topic for disccussion - at least within this community - it is pointless and many have said as much within the thread. I don't know what more can be said.

They don't have to bow down or even take him back, but they should at the very least sit down with him for a meeting. If Ed is bluffing as you say, shouldn't they call him on it? If he isn't bluffing and they can work something out, LIVE is stronger with Ed than with Chris Shinn.

Our take: White roses and thorns

ROSES: To Ed Kowalczyk for reaching out to his old bandmates in Live, saying in an email he would like to reunite. The former frontman has been estranged from the three other original members of the group and embroiled in litigation. It's sad to see a group of homegrown York boys who created at least one classic rock album together squabbling. It would be great to see them reunite - and even work together helping their old hometown.[u]
