I am on the one hand sorry to hear you have grown up. Growing up is dull. I am nearly 30 with my feelings stuck at 16 or smth.
On another hand, I get what you are saying, but isn't it too early to judge? you never know what they come up with!

Dont feel sorry for me growing up. No problems with it from where I sit. Well, other than those pesky sore muscles and aching bones that didnt exist in my teens, twenties, and early thirties.
I still feel like a kid sometimes, and try to act like one when I can get away with it.

Not judging them too early. I'm sure I'll really like whatever they do. If they end up filling that favorite spot, then great. I'll never expect or predict it from anyone though.

OTD - I respect you and I trust you completely when it comes to Live stuff, and I think you get it right about 100% of the time. Frankly, if it wasn't for your posts here and your assurances about what is happening in private, my level of freaking out would be 10 times what it is. But I don't think that as a fan, I should have to have faith in your posts on a message board in order wait patiently for something to happen after the announcement a year ago and the 2 shows in March. I don't agree with the approach they are taking from a music-business-management perspective and I don't think it is right for the fans. They don't have the luxury of a band at the peek of their popularity who can do things in secret and then spring it on a happy and awaiting massive fan base. With the Ed stuff, a new lead singer, coming off a series of mediocre albums, a skeptical and confused fan base and lack of market visibility, they need to be trying harder to make more waves, not protect a still pond.

I think that you, and many of the people here, need to understand that LIVE isn't the guys first priority anymore. They have a lot of shit going on business wise obviously and I personally think they are becoming businessmen primarily. Live is something they seem to want to keep on with as a hobby, something they can enjoy. But it just isn't their entire life and focus anymore and we all need to get used to that.

I'm betting we won't get to see them tour for a long time to come. I hear they've got a lot of stuff going on business wise and I think that's great. They just don't want to depend on LIVE'S well being anymore for their financial stability to be dependent on it.

So seriously, quit getting all wound up about it. When it happens it happens. But expect it to happen slowly. With all the legal bullshit and the business stuff on the side, Live isn't the focus anymore. I wouldn't be surprised if there wasn't much promotion at all for the new album. I think they just care about putting out good music and rebuilding their musical careers slowly around some good solid rock music for the next few years.

Don't expect ANY big radio promotion or ANY extensive touring because those things aren't likely to happen. CC&P are involved in that business deal in York amongst many others. CT seems intent on signing new talent and maybe producing some new bands himself when his dream studio becomes fully functional.

I simply wouldn/t expect to see LIVE anytime soon.

First off, Nick, go fuck yourself and don't post here.

OK. There will be no Live reunion. This BS was simply a ploy by ED on a couple of fronts.

First, he wants CC&P to look like they are the ones impeding a possible reunion. He wants to get back together no more than they want to get back with him. It's a complete slimeball move aimed at Live moving forward without him. He simply wants everyone to think that he is trying of so hard, so that he can use that against CC&P in court when it comes down to how much he will get when LIVE starts to tour without him. If I were CC&P, I would tour with Shinn and Candlebox, allowing TGF to perform as well. ***PERFORM NONE OF THEIR OLD MATERIAL**, so that ED gets absolutely nothing from it. Perform their new music, the entire album and omit everything else Ed EVER had a hand in.

Second, this has been coming for much longer than most of you know. Ed was becoming a complete dick for a long long time. For those of you who think these guys were close right up until the hiatus in 2009? Think again. Ed had been behaving like a complete cunt for quite some time. For years leading to that hiatus, there was animosity and trouble brewing. They should have split almost a full decade earlier.....to give you an idea of how long the shit had started to hit the fan.

This band will NEVER reunite under any circumstances. I'd be willing to bet just about anything on it. Not to name names, but I think a few select people would rather be dead than be in his company anywhere ever again.

This whole bunch of garbage is about one thing, MONEY. Are you surprised?? For hasn't that been such a big issue for our beloved ED and his "star" signing bonus requests?? His $200 pendent for sale that was actually worth a buck or so?? His own coffee for sale?? Him marketing out his OWN KIDS pictures on mugs for financial gain?? His generous offer to talk to you on the phone for a low feee of what was it? 40 bucks??

Everything has been about money for this guy for a long time now and this is no exception. He wants more money from the new LIVE when they tour and use his old songs. He has no desire for nothing but to line his own pockets. If one single person thinks that this is in any way shape or form lead to a reunion, think again. For I'm fairly certain that after CC&P get a good laugh at this and finish shaking their heads, it's only going to piss them off even more. Ed is accomplishing nothing but driving that wedge in there so tight, it isn't ever going to come out.

Anyways, I'm going to follow Pokey and not bother much with this place anymore.

It seems we have an admistrator more interested in repetitive threads than we do somebody interested in protecting the integrity of this band.

I personally think it shows a complete lack of respect for CC&P. I also think that when it comes to three quarters of your board being utterly disgusted with attacks on three of the band members, something needs to be done.

The fact that it's allowed to continue against three great guys like CC&P is utterly disgusting and disrespectful.

Good job Dan. I'm boycotting this place and I hope many others will do the same until this shit is either addressed or cleaned up. For I won't continue to read useless drivel from a guy who has no insight into anything whatsover, with no purpose but to disrespect and tarnish the image of three awesome guys who desrve better.

That is all! Adios! hi.gif

I'm guessing Chad Taylor saying that Ed was always welcomed back was a ploy as well?

Well I'm crushed to find out they have a life outside of LIVE. How dare they.

It's nothing to do with them having other interests...it's the empty promises that get old. The beat up...and then nothing.

No doubt. If it's going to take time then tell us it will take time.

Sorry guys I don't get it, their first studio date was when, June, July? The album making process isn't taking very long if they are finishing up this week.

I don't know the exact timeline but CS has been in the band less than a year. Writing and cutting an album takes time, and thank God they aren't rushing it.

Agreed. I hope they take their time as well. My biggest complaint is how they handle everything around the album. One month there is a ton of activity then it falls off into the deep abyss? Pat's nugget saying that they are heading back to Nashville is good enough for me. Just a quick update here and there will suffice.

Nevermind, Dan sent it to me.

https://www.facebook.com/note.php?note_id=10150248743297830

I don't think Chad was saying what you want you think Chad was saying, but everyone can read it and judge for themselves. He also doesn't say anything about "always," as I imagine any return from Ed would require a number of demands to be met.

It's also fair to say that the ship sailed on this Facebook note as soon as they found CS.

I watched the second to last episode of the season of Newsroom last night. One of the characters was going under cover as a "troll" so he could get accepted onto a secret troll website where troll's gather. They first have to prove their bona fides as a troll to get access to the troll website. This character onthe show defined what a troll is. I always had a general idea of what a troll is, but in this episode they gave a very descriptive definition of exactly what constitutes a message board troll. I swear it was an EXACT definition of what Nick does here. The goal is to cause a group of posters who make otherwise controlled, on-topic discussoins to go haywire and get off topic and loose their composure and, if the troll is really good, to get threads locked and maybe even collapse the message board. I have seen all of that here caused by Nick and when there was the mass exodus from here a week ago, this message board became totally stagnant and useless. Had that gone on for months, this message board would have been on the scrap heap of history.

So I concluded based on a two-part episode of Newsroom that (1) Nick fits the definition of a troll perfectly, (2) he really needs to be ignored by everyone, and (3) he ought to be banned from this message board because he only incites and enflames and does not post anything positive or constructive about the one topic for which this message board exists - Live.

I haven't put Nick on ignore before now because I found the fights to be entertaining and I didn't want to miss anything, but now I realize that I should, and we all should. He really only posts stuff to try and get under the skin of Live fans and antogonize them. The purpose of his posts are not legitimate. Look at his last post in this thread. It shouldn't be condoned or observed or engaged.
