Internally things have been wrong with the guys for 10+ years so I guess the notion that they can mend fences and work things out seems so unlikely to me.

Obviously if we could go back to 1999 and rewrite Live's history I would continue the story with Ed as part of the band.

I've spent a lot of time and money the last decade trying to support my favorite band only to be burned time and time again. Shame on me I suppose.

Funny, I actually liked Deep Enough. Knowing that V wasn't supposed to be a proper release makes me like it even more. Of course, I didn't think the band would continue down that path... woops.

Ed has just changed so much musically. I can't see it even if they did somehow work out all of their issues (which is unlikely).

It's this same fantasy land that WWE (or whatever the hell it's called) fans think is a reality.

Ed screwed everything up and the rest of the band has moved on without him.

Nick is kind of like that guy friend we all have that gets dumped by some chick because she realizes she can do a ton better but he someone thinks they are going to get back together when she's already moved on and is banging some other guy.

I'm looking forward to them continuing in any way / combo that they wish, but my preference is for the original 4. I will likely enjoy the new stuff, but its not going to give me that same feeling of seeing and listening to the band I 'grew up' with. And I hope that they dont do any more remakes of the old songs.

I am on the one hand sorry to hear you have grown up. Growing up is dull. I am nearly 30 with my feelings stuck at 16 or smth.

I like how I'm the problem here, no one can seemingly practice what they preach, ignoring the steaming pile of shit in the room doesn't make the steaming pile of shit go away, it'll still stink. And it will continue to stink whether people ignore, engage, or whatever because the shit thinks and knows there are absolutely no consequences to anything it does and so long as that goes on, the shit will keep on and it doesn't matter what anyone else here does or how they act.

That being said, yes I will give it a break, the board has definitely felt less fun over the last little while and I probably need a break, and so it seems people need a break from my posting too, I got end of year exams around the corner so I think I'll stick to taking a proper leave until then. Nah it's all good dude, it just gets annoying when a situation like this arises which is Ed trying to crawl back to Live and of course Nick will jump on it, but he represents a bunch of like minded people in that "No Ed, No Live" camp and so of course we're going to comment one way or the other because it is "news" in Live land one way or the other, so my comments originally were tied in directly with that, and not specifically at Nick, or banning Nick or whatever, it was the situation as a whole, but I still seem to get singled out as egging the problem on, like somehow I want to keep it ongoing when I can guarantee you I want it to stop as much as anyone (I just don't believe ignoring it will work) when I'm not alone in doing so, but it's all good, don't worry, it's part of what I mean, the board has lost it's glow for me a bit and I need to go away for awhile, it's for the best

That's part of the reason I think I need a break, with the negative feelings I've had around here I don't really want that to rub off on anything that would otherwise be pretty positive and end up putting a taint on things. My biggest fear and problem was that this place would turn into an even bigger shit storm when new material did hit and it's why I pushed so hard for some kind of resolution somehow before that happened, but it's clear nothing is going to be done, so if I do remove myself from it for a time, then at least on a personal level, it creates the same desired effect, no taint on new stuff. Although it still could be some time before we have any kind of proper release.

And that's the thing, I wasn't quoting him here, I was talking about the main reason this thread was started, he just happens to be the biggest representation of that "No Ed, No Live" group that is tied into this. I wasn't quoting him and he wasn't replying to me, it was a non issue. So as I said, once people couldn't see the difference I thought, fuck it, may as well respond to him then. Ignoring him won't work because he doesn't care about that, he has an agenda and that is to ram Ed being in Live as hard as possible whether we engage him or not. It's not like school yard psychology "if you ignore the bully, he'll get bored and go away!". I used to think he'd get bored with it, but I realised it's not 100% pure trolling, he's too obsessive in his convictions to act like that, by completely ignoring him he also sees it as a win, no one is there to challenge his statements and accusations so he likes that. He will continue as always until he learns there are consequences for how he acts, and since there are no consequences, he won't stop. To think it'll all just magically go away if you ignore him is just being foolishly hopeful I'm afraid.

Either way, doesn't matter, ignore him, don't ignore him, quote him or don't, things aren't changing any time soon. I'll leave you guys to deal with it whatever way you see fit, I can only hope Dan see's the light at some point and realizes he's gotta do something or the cycle just won't end, at least I won't be part of the problem any more. And this'll be my last post for the foreseeable future
