Funky - homo has taken on a whole new meaning...in this country at least. It actually has nothing to do with homosexuality now.

Ed, you and your publicity person are just suck arses.

It is really a PR kind of declarations. Everytime I think he's done digging his hole, he goes deeper and deeper. We're getting used to it.

But that being said, new music from CCCP and soon would shut even more his mouth. Come on guys, I'm sure you can.

Well this is all certainly interesting. Firstly I agree, it's a PR ploy, it's a crock of shit. He makes such specific points of how he's moved on, he needed to grow, he'd never work with "those individuals", now that he's suddenly scaring down a gun barrel of a big loss, suddenly he wants to get back into Live. Sorry, doesn't work like that. He doesn't get to have his cake and eat it too, he wanted a solo career and is still planning solo albums, he can still play the Live songs and seems to think that his musicians are every bit as good as CCP, apparently he's happy... Apparently. He just doesn't want Live to continue without him... Sorry but he walked away, hurt his friends, made his bed and now has to lie in it. Sorry but just because you are one of the founding members of a football team doesn't mean that the team has to fold just because you leave.

As for the 5% thing... Yeah I acknowledge that the majority of people would want Ed back, not going to guess percentages but I'm sure more do than don't. However, the fact a huge number of those who do are made up of casual fans means I really don't care nor value their opinion. It's a harsh stance but Live are a band I've invested so much time, money and emotion into over 20yrs that I'm going to value people in similar situations opinions a lot more than just those who want to turn up at a gig, hear Lightning Crashes and then that's them satisfied. Sorry but I don't see them as a factor. When you take those people away, which is the vast majority overall, the numbers I think are a lot more even for those who are willing to at least give things with Shinn a try. Even if you are unsure of how you'll ultimately feel, there are still many who are open minded.

I was being a bit of goofball, but there's a lot more prejudice here in the ole USA so it is what it is.

I think that Live has a greater chance of gaining a new fanbase by writing new, exciting music with CS at the helm. I don't think they should worry about pleasing anyone but themselves. That's what they did with TGF and with the proper time and attention it could have gained a new fan base not just made up of '90s rock fans.

-Didn't CCP say that Ed is always welcome back, but he refused to come back. Now what do they say?

-Couldn't CCP still work with Shinn on new music and still release it under a different banner than LIVE?

-LIVE with all four members is still the best way to go. Even if they never released a new song, they still have dozens and dozens of songs that they could play in concert.

-Ed solo, TGF, and LIVE back with is original members would be win/win for everyone(hell throw in a side project with Shinn for good measure).

A true reconciliation would be awesome.

I feel that you think Ed made this statement purely from his heart with only good intentions in mind.

Ed must really be ready to get back with Live and make it happen now that he's releasing his EP with a promised solo follow up album soon to come next year. Sounds like he's been ready to end the "two year" plus hiatus he decided to take and CCP are the only things holding him up.

I hope you haven't registered to vote!

Ed back with Live is not a win for quality music if they go back to writing SFBM grade stuff, with the band dominated by Ed. If Ed starts publically talking about wanting to come back but realising he needs to give some more control to CCP and work as they used to then I'll take a little more interest. For now if Ed came back itd be a nightmare for creativity.

The little poll on the website was 50/50 on people wanting ed to come back to live when I read it. Now it is 75-25 on people wanting ed back. no.gif

Of course people want Ed back, but people also voted for the Nazis and like Coldplay, you can't trust people because they're inherently stupid!
