DWLF is the most interesting thing Ed has done since going solo, so more collaborations there should be good, although I'm not sure I like the idea of them remixing anything from Alive. I tend not to like remixes in general, so I'm not optimistic about remixes of songs I didn't like much anyway. Would prefer it if they just chucked out a couple of new tracks together.

I would have paid some amount of attention to an album of songs like DWLF and the acoustic Zion. That would be an older, less rock Ed that I can appreciate. Instead, we got close-minded pop/rock that sounds just like Daughtry, and the new songs sound like they are in the same realm. Yuck.

I don't understand people's hesitancy, this is the same man who wrote "puppy scruff" "write a song so good make a midget grow" and Deep Enough. It's not like it would be out of line for him.

The fact it doesn't make sense makes perfect sense "like a child falling asleep at the wheel" "sweet as a black bird in the night sky" or however they go... It is dumb, but that doesn't mean it is t there.

He says "bit dick" and it's clear the meaning is that this girl doesn't need to be a prostitute to feed her child... In the context of the song it makes sense, but it's still poorly written.

I know that the "like a child" bit technically belongs to previous statement about "standing inside your love" (whatever the fuck that even means also) when it is written, but the way he sings it makes it sound as if the child line is connected to falling asleep at the wheel. Either way it's poor writing and goes arm in arm with biting dick.

I respectfully agree to disagree. I hear divine destiny. were I a gambler I'd put all of my money on it. (that's about $8. my net worth, I mean) and yes, drive is written and sung in a goofy metre, but the child is not driving, the blackbird is not sweet. the song would be poorly written without these lines, btw.

Strange... I just can't hear anything even renotely close to devine destiny... When speaking about stripping for cash like he is in that song, bite dick just seems to fit the topic (or go arm in arm ). There even seems to be a dip in colume around the word "dick" as almost a censor but didn't quite work.
And yeah the black bird isn't sweet, nor the child asleep at the wheel, but poor writing/song structure can easily cause confusion there, I'd put it all down to just lazy sloppy writing really.
I don't mind DWLF, I wouldn't listen to it really, it's terrible as far as lyrics go but I at least like the fact something totally different was tried, it was an interesting move at least.
