Which reminds me, did anyone see the way Ed looked at Chris somewhat towards the end (as they come to the front of the stage)? It could have just been a look of concentration, but Ed flashed Chris a very concerned look at one point... it scared me.

That dance was a very clever movement IMO, Ed just had the ability to adapt to the Idol context.

LOL That, he did. It was rather intriguing. I didn't find it creepy in a bad way, more like haunting due to his sincere facial expressions.

The next time they’ll be on the same stage together will probably be at a rock festival somewhere next year. Interestingly. Simon said earlier in the competition that Daughtry needed to make some changes, because a band like Creed would never appear on a show like this. The fact that Live proved that theory wrong demonstrates that groups will do an awful lot to reach an audience, even if it means being in the same room with Paula Abdul.

considering Creed is broken up I'm not sure they'd perform anyway.
Live had the balls to perform on AI.
maybe other rock bands will follow in the future.
of course it would take someone like Chris to get them there.

That may be true. Creed was huge for their whole career. I doubt they would do a show like that. I doubt other big rock bands who are extremely marketable would do the show. Theres no need. Live needs whatever they can get. Live was one of the least commercial/marketable of the big bands from the 90s. Maybe the AI performance will help change that.

There have been a lot of critics pointing out that they feel Live lost credibility by appearing on AI. My personal take is that it's the other way around - Live BROUGHT credibility to AI.

...and anyway, any critic who thinks otherwise can shove it up the ole tailpipe.

Yeah makes sense...... Ed's got 20 years on Chris and it was his song. Not to mention.... how nervous would any of us be performing with our Idol? Pretty sure Ed could pull off singing with Absent Element. God, I'd love to see that. If you've heard So I Lie Awake.... I'd love to hear that re-recorded with Ed and Chris. *shivers*. We're all hoping he gets to make his own contract regardless. I don't want to hear canned Chris, I want his own songs in his own words. I'm just so thankful that his Idols have taken the time to acknowledge and talk to him. I forgot what an incredible PERSON Ed is since he's been out of the limelight for a while. VERY COOL for him to grant an Idol contestant one of his wishes.

He was just saying that a band like Creed would have too many egos to appear on a show like American Idol.

I gotta say, this bothers me a little bit. Ed is not Live. Ed is one of the guys in Live. Live is a band. Not a guy. I know some of their more recent videos prove me wrong, but it's not Ed & The Boys. It's Live.
