I'm not even sure what to say anymore. His whole thing is absurd. To think that people are going to believe him. Really Ed? So he's "working" for a Live reunion? Why is that necessary when he's billing himself as if he's still in Live, or is Live? So he's working on a reunion when he trashed his former drummer just last week? All of it BS. Has been since he announced he was leaving "to do something different". Whatever.

Well enough to carry on what Live is all about. Probably not if Ed came back. I think many will feign a full reunion with Ed for many many reasons!! If Ed came back without changing and giving back (many of fish's list), I don't think I could go either.

Who cares about the long term. You simply go back to basing it on crowds, it never was about the music with you so you can fuck off.

RIght now Ed is hell bent on exploiting what Live stands for.

And how is that different for CCP with a new singer? They are also cashing in on the LIVE brand because their new band wasn't profitable.

What happens if LIVE 2.0 doesn't work out the way they want it? They will draw bigger crowds initially than The Gracious Few on name alone. However, long term it isn't very promising for them.

Ed isn't LIVE. He is touring as Ed Kowalczyk of LIVE. Any lead singer touring without his band or (without his band name) doesn't draw as well as he did with the band. Do you honestly think LIVE will draw as well without Ed in the long term?

I've outlined before why it shouldn't make a lick of difference to you or Ed if he gets back together with Live or not unless it's purely motivated by money and if you both want it then we clearly know where your hearts lie.

So if TGF had been more profitable (whatever that means) then they would have just abandoned Live? Right. One has nothing to do with the other. They put way too much into Live to just let it rot away while Ed does his best (worst) Live impersonation. They were never going to just sit around waiting for the almighty EK to return. Newsflash, they had already had enough of him anyway.

Nick - why do you even want Ed to get back into Live? You've clearly stated you're more than happy with the solo work because you still get to hear Live songs and see Ed in concert and apparently there are "no noticeable drop offs". And since Ed was "the driving force" behind Live, then in your and his mind, why does he need Live or to go back to Live?
Seriously, why do you want him back in Live if it doesn't make any difference musically? I don't know if you can even answer that without the answer having something to do with something non musical (crowd drawings etc).



This whole thing really leaves a sour taste in my mouth. Ed professes for years he's so much happier now, and the fans absolutely love what he's doing and the new energy he has and that he felt Live's time was over etc... now as soon as Live is about to get on it's feet again with a new singer he's all "oh well hopefully one day!" ... disgusting human being.

ahahahahaha Yeah that's just what we want, more cheesy smiles, changed lyrics, booty shaking, jesus-lust and plexi glass back in Live! It's what the fans are craving!
He's "still working on that" yet reports from all sorts of places claiming he's uncontactable.

This is just an effort to undermine Live in its current form, if Ed reunites with them and things go back to the way they were in the dying days of Live then you can count me out. And unlike Nicholas, I mean it.

If CC&P were ever fine to bury the hatchet with Ed I could go along with it too.

I like how you presume to know how the guys in Live "want it to work out". By implying that Live 2.0 won't work you also imply that Ed's solo gig currently isn't working. I mean, Live 2.0 hasn't even released an album yet and you want them to fail...to give Ed a better chance at a reunion, because you imply that Ed's solo gig isn't very promising for him, long term.

Also, I think you underestimate the draw of the "Live" name and overestimate how much the general music-listening public knows about Ed Kowalczyk. Most people have a chance at recognizing the name Live, even if it's just from knowing Throwing Copper songs. Most people do not have a chance at recognizing Ed Kowalczyk, and most people likely won't even realize Live has a new singer until they are explicitly told this. Most people aren't like us, most people don't follow the band like we do. Ed realizes this, so if he starts talking about a reunion now it's simply because Live is going to be making music again and he's just a greedy asshole. He's mentioned in many interviews how happy he is with his solo stuff, and he even posted recently on Facebook about how awesome his new band mates are.

He doesn't need to ruin Live 2 times, once is enough.

See you're going about it all wrong here, you're using logic, SJN doesn't work or think logically.

You're right though, he's ruined Live once, he's had his chance and done his dash! I just want Live to make a GOOD album for the first time in many, many years and I think they can do that with Shinn and I will consider that a massive success! If Ed comes back it'll be a clusterfuck of SFBM mixed with some BOP to pretend its RAWKING! sure it may draw a few more people through the gate, but why the fuck should I care about that? Am I going to sleep better at night knowing 200 extra people turned up at a Live gig in bumblefuck texas, or am I going to sleep better laying in bed with the headphones on spinning the new album ROCKING with Shinn?

I don't get what the big obsession is with crowd figures.
