So you went to CA from NJ to see Ed play at a state fair? Please tell me you were at least in CA already for vacation or something and you didn't travel just for seeing the show

Yep, traveled from Anaheim to LA to Paso Robles and ended in San Francisco.

What was most disappointing about the experience is that I actually ordered tickets ahead of time for my wife and I but when we arrived at the gate, they were handing out tickets to fair attendees for free to fill up the stadium. Most people declined since they had no idea who Ed Kowalcyzk is.

Thus, the crowd was very small and extremely disconnected to the music, especially the "solo" songs. As one would expect, the crowd did get into a few of the classic Live hits such as Lightning Crashes and I Alone. Overall, I was definitely getting a different vibe from the crowd then our Ed "source" around here.

Most of the fans seemed unfamiliar with some of the other beloved Live songs such as The Dolphin's Cry and Heaven. I asked a few of the people around me how familiar they were with the music and band and they said they only came in because of the free passes to the show.

I was almost overcome with sadness for Ed that his shows have come to this. I had similar feelings towards the end of original Live's run but the realization that what everyone around here says about Ed is true hit me pretty hard.

Finally some truth on the matter.

I stopped reading your response at the sentence in bold. Sucks that you bought tickets when you could have had them for free. Did you have to pay for some sort of fair admission to get the free tickets? Sorry, not familiar with how things were set up for this one.

I guess you actually weren't at the fair. There were no tickets to the concert, the concert was free with fair admission(which they weren't giving out for free).

6:30 show was more laid back, the 8:30 show was pretty rocking.

Nice try Mike. smile.gif

Also, there were more people at attendance than there are people viewing the Olympics.

The California Mid-State Fair, as part of the Budweiser Concert Series, is pleased to announce the booking of LIVE’s Ed Kowalczyk, who will perform two shows on Wednesday, July 25th at 6:30p and 8:30p on the Frontier Stage. LIVE’s Ed Kowalczyk’s performances will be free with your paid admission to the Fair.

answer should be obvious.

Weak. That right there is damaging the Live brand. Free shows? Or should I say $8 dollar shows for some sweaty fat ppl walking by with funnel cakes and cinnamon rolls on their way to the turkey leg line?

Great job, Ed. Hope you enjoy the lawsuit.

You know who plays at our state fair? This loser:

Define "numerous" and also how many were free if you bought a ticket into the fair?
