There are some amazing pictures in that thread of the progress that's going on at the site. One World Trade Center (Freedom Tower) is close to topping out. They've already gotten to 100 floors.

I've seen the Freedom tower when it was about 60 stories. Also saw it on my trip to Germany, flew overhead and it was about 80 stories.

I've only been to NYC once and that was a couple years ago before they'd really started building 1WTC.

Almost 11 years ago and the mere mention of it brings it back as if it were yesterday.

I went to high school with someone who died at the Pentagon. Even before high school he knew it exactly what he wanted to do in life; join the Navy.
He had recently been appointed Commander...had a wife and kids....just a good man. We lost so many good people that day.

You guys been keeping up with the progress of it? There's this one thread on a forum called Skyscrapercity.com that I've been following for a while:

It's 1700+ pages long as it's been active since 2006. But there are amazing photos that different people have taken of the progress of the area.

Could be an interesting follow for those interested.

Why yes... yes it is. He sure got a lot of use out of the drum silencer in the last few years. And the Big Ego Booster (with the gain turned to 10).

Yeah, it's pretty sweet. Hopefully they fill out WTC1 fast (it's at 55% or so now, supposedly) so they can get to building WTC2 and WTC3.

Side note, I forgot that I'd posted this thread when I posted a new one... and I'd only posted it a few months ago. I guess internet forum years are like dog years. Thanks to Dan for moving that last post into this thread.

I would really love to see those pictures. Adore the way some of posters are so patriotic. they trace it all. Hope there are a lot of people like that in the US
