hahaha holy shit the LaToya Smith-Jackson one got deleted, what the hell was wrong with what she posted?? From what I can see, if you mention Live members at all, or don't praise Ed then you get deleted?
Or maybe whoever is deleting them has picked up that there were a couple of troll posts and is now paranoid and deleting anything and everything "just in case" including legit fan posts.

LaToya Smith-Jackson He's a good drummer for only being 25, but he's no Gracey. Ed, you have such an amazing talent... make sure your musicians are up to par like the rest of Live was...
This seems totally legit, and like a very reasonable post. I wonder if it will be deleted too? Will any mention of Live and CCP at all get deleted?
That would be crazy and so ironic, the man who can't forge a solo career without relying heavily on his connection to Live - is banning any talk of the band Live

I'd like to know the opinions of anyone that is or was on the fence about supporting Ed. Have these recent events changed anything? I believe Dancing Queen and others fall into this category. Thoughts?

I've always sided with CCP, so the recent suit and petty comments really have no affect on my mind set. He'll never get another penny from me for his music or shows.

After reading the original lawsuit (CCP's side of things) and Chad's blog, I still maintained that there are two sides to every story, and I was still in love with Ed's voice. So I've tried desperately to give Ed the benefit of the doubt.

That has become increasingly difficult, and is now impossible.

First - the use of the name "Alive" Then, the lawsuit complaints going completely unanswered except to call CCP "those individuals" Then, the "I, Alone" tour, combined with the 75/25 Live/solo setlists. Then the constant billing as "Of Live" (which I really wanted to believe wasn't Ed's fault - but clearly Pollstar was ASKED to bill him that way).

I feel like, right now, and for the last few years, Ed is bad at being a human.
We all do this sometimes (not steal from our friends, necessarily) but we aren't all in public doing it.

I do believe Ed has found his way to being a Christian. I don't believe (I think Funky said something to this effect) that Ed professing this was his asking to be held to a higher standard.

As a Christian who is supremely grateful for the love of Christ in my heart, I am the first to tell you that I suck at being a human sometimes. Often, in fact. I sincerely hope that people don't misunderstand my saying "I'm a Christian" with "I'm better at life than you"

Ed may be a douche, but it's not because he's a Christian. I admit, it leaves a bad taste in my mouth that he puts his faith out there and changes the lyrics to Selling the Drama (rendering the song useless and conflicted with itself, btw) and then cheats and steals and in general sucks.

The potshot he took at CG on fb is unacceptable. I'm glad it was removed, but I wonder if Ed realized it needed to be removed, or if one of his handlers had to point it out to him?
I believe he is angry and sad and bitter and confused and genuinely believes that he is and always will be "of Live" because he is deluded and believes he WAS Live.

Watch the interview with Chris Daughtry when CD was on Idol. Ed said "so how did I inspire you?" or something like that to Chris. Not "how did WE (meaning Live) inspire you?" but "I" it made me nauseous.

Ed has been an egomaniac for quite some time.

But it's a mistake to hold him to a different standard because he's a Christian. None of us, believer (in anything) or not, are perfect or close to it. It is tempting, I know, I have hard time with it, too. It makes Christians look bad, no doubt, because he is so public about it. and because it's such a turn from before.
But really, I make Christians look bad if you spend enough Saturday nights with me.

Regarding the original question (holy shit I got on a tangent):

Ed will not get my money. I want to go to concerts. I want to hear that voice (even what it is now, just because sometimes it's awesome, even if only for a minute). But I can't buy his record or pay to see him after all these shenanigans.

I will remain a reluctant fan. But I will not give him my money.
In his personal and professional life, I wish him the best. I want him to call up CCP and apologize and eat humble pie and really truly learn to not be an asshole.

The AMerican Idol is a good point. I mentioned yesterday there is the Awake DVD Ed interview. It's all 'I' "I' 'I'.

I don't think an apology is in his soul at this point. Something else needs to happen perhaps.

I think he thought Alive was clever, and I do believe he felt it went along with the "rebirth" of being a Christian. I also think (and sadly, I think this was more important) that he recognized it sounded just like LIVE.
I Alone was clearly just him using Live's success to try to fuel his own.

I believe Levin is a poison pill. But Ed is not blameless in swallowing bottle after bottle...
