Yeah, we need fish to break this one down. What's with the cars on Gracey's outfit? Is he the "driving" force of Live? Looks like some sort of cat costume CT has on. What's his deal with cats lately? I can't figure it out.

Back to the clip, the music has a classic Live sound and the vocals sound impassioned like early Live. Can't tell much more but I dig it! If this is an indication of how things are going then I think they're on the right track.

This sounds good, for what it is. It's made me sit up and take notice for sure. I haven't invested much time or hope in what Live does next but that sounded like something I'd want to listen to, thanks Aitkens.

I've listened to it so many times that I don't need it anymore, I can just play it in my head.

Yeah, I know it's not as immediate as Twitter but I don't have Facebook either so I just check their profiles a few times a day.

Here is the blog that I am going to post about this photo, but I would like to hear some input before I do.

Hanging Chads

Live posted this photo on their Facebook last night, and clearly this represents the most profound and important development that has happened to Live in the last 20 years! We should all be excited about this!

Clearly this photo could have never happened if Ed was still in the band. First of all (and most obviously), Chad Taylor and Chad Gracey are in the recording studio working on Live songs! This is evidence that they were actually able to get their way into the studio and have input on the album! If Ed were in the band, this would have just been a photo of Gracey and Taylor peering through the window into a locked studio - with Ed bobbing his head with a cheesy grin on his face. The picture would have had to have been taken quickly, before security would have shown up at Ed's insistence, to escort Chad and Chad away.

Secondly, and equally as obvious - Chad Gracey is not trapped in a plexiglass cage. This photo appears to show Gracey plexiglass- free, roaming freely among other members of the band. This would never have happened if Ed was in the band. Also, Chad Gracey appears to have a smile on his face. Real, true fans of Live know that this phenomenon hasn't happened to Gracey for the last 13 years that Ed was in the band.

Finally, the biggest reason why we know that Ed is not a part of the recording process and has nothing to do with this photo is that Gracey and taylor appear to be sleeping. If Ed was there, we know there would be copious amounts of coffee around and Ed would be giving everyone an ultimatum that they must drink it or he will leave the band. It would probably be Kowalczyk's own branded coffee (so he could make money every time they drink a cup). They would be so hopped up on caffein that they couldn't sleep.

So we have established that Ed is out of the band.

I believe that I see a light saber in Chad Taylor's hand. This obviously represents the force. Now, Nick night say that he is beholden to the dark side of the force, but the overwhelming majority of Live fans think that Chad Taylor committed himself to the positive side of the force when he was a young child and he has never swayed. We will need to hear more new Live music before we can verify which side of the force Chad is on.

Chad is also dressed as a cat. Now cat's do not like water - and water has always represented the spiritual flow of consciousness in Live's songs. One could surmise that Chad is telling us in the photo that he is on the dry riverbanks - separated from enlightenment. Of course, in ancient Egypt, the cat represented fertility and motherhood, and one could easily conclude that Chad is telling us that the band is experiencing fertile creativity and they are about to give birth to something great.

Chad Gracey has left his wedding ring prominently displayed in this photo. Mental Jewelry anyone?!?! Is this a statement that the new album will sound exactly like Mental Jewelry? Or that Gracey is imprisoned by the attachment and clinging of his ego mind?!?! You be the judge.

I also see tracks in the photo. This means that live is on the right track. They are on the fast track. They are really getting somewhere with this album.

Excellent, Fish! These boys never do ANYTHING without hidden meaning wrapped in mystery! But there is one glaring question which you have overlooked ... where is PD? What does his absence from the picture tell us? What clues does the picture give us as to the whereabouts and actions of PD? (and yeah I realise he's probably standing about 2 feet to the left drinking a beer, but still!)

What does his absence from the picture tell us? What clues does the picture give us as to the whereabouts and actions of PD? (and yeah I realise he's probably standing about 2 feet to the left drinking a beer, but still!)

CS is busy recording so it was probably PD who took the photo. What might that say? He might be the one who snapped the pic that so perfectly encapsulates this stage in Live history that Fish summed up so brilliantly. We don't hear from PD too much so this may be his way of communicating.
