I appreciate the clip... but I don't like what I heard. I hate to be the first naysayer but if this is the best they have to offer I am really worried. I don't want to over analyze the 15 second clip but TGF had a much better teaser than this. I'm worried but I'll try to be optimistic.

Maybe I overhyped it to myself? It doesn't sound a thing like S.S. to me. Anyone else worried?

I'm glad that I pushed myself a bit more to keep listening to Everything is Energy, Unified Theory and Shinn's solo work, while I'm not a fan of everything he's put out I found his voice almost an acquired taste in a way in that it took a few listens before I "got it", so now I am tuned in to him almost, so hearing this there was no shock or anything like that.

anyone want to have a crack at the lyrics? Last 2 lines are easy - "you know what I can do and all the things you can't"

Waaw, although it's only 15 seconds, that clip included exactly what we want in Live's sound. To me this clip was: alternative sounding, passionate singing, great melodie, guitars, MJ/TC sound, all in 15 seconds.
Apart from that, it really reminded me of the old TC- demo casette recordings I once downloaded from this site. Because of the crappy quality, but you can hear passionate people making music.

Can't wait for the rest. Really, can't wait.

And just the other day I was asking for it liking it. the guitar, like someone said reminds me of Feel the quiet river rage. but i am not making and big jdugements yet. need to hear at least a full song

I am guessing it is the tip of the iceberg and is somewhere in the middle as far as heavy and lighter songs.

The TGF clips did nothing for me. The album is one of my top 5 of all time now Don't worry!

Hopefully when you hear the full song or other clips it will meet all of your expectations. I'm still digging the clip even now that I'm sober. They could've re-recorded Call Me a Fool last night and I would have posted that it was the best song ever.

Oh, and Fish, I know you are in the middle of the Mental Jewelry song blog but I can't wait to read your thoughts on this in your blog in full Fish fashion. For some reason I get the sense that you are or will be bursting at the seams with thoughts and while your posts here are always great and thorough I think your blog is that times 10.

I completly understand Badman. Live's new music is not going to grab everyone, but i'm sure that we won't be dissapointed. Don't be afraid Badman, I'm sure you will like the new tunes.

And btw, if TGF had better teasers, it's almost impossible to record something better than TC, SS or TGF. Those albums are the best CCP have ever made.
