Jayda....Just going OT here Nick, but really curious how your turn around love fest thing happened with ED? So interesting to read those old posts you made. Would love to hear about your turning point

Here is the location and web history for the SJN backstory!! It gives the insigh to Jayda's inquiry and more about what Fish was probing.

Banned from SOY for things, Scorned at old FansofLive by the old die hards for trying to push SFBM and how it's the bees knees and there we have it, he buys this site and turns it into his personal ed sasusage fest, then after his trolling and attacks on CC&P and every other thing Live / TGF is doing..... can hide no longer he sells it in order to turn tricks as Ed's admin. Mind you this is all prior to the revelations of ultimatums, secret contracts and the split.

Love it!!! A fraud and not a real Live fan. A CHOADE!!

That's interesting because I saw nothing of the old band in Baltimore the next night. >

They must have left everything in Atlantic City the night before because that was an amazing concert. And to be honest, The River has very strong hit potential. Much more so than any song from the band's first four albums if released today. LIVE has to adapt to the changing sound of popular music, even if it means losing a few long-time fans along the way. Replace the old with the new.....

Um that worked now didn't it?

Maybe it's time for Nick to go to another messageboard. His work is done here. Go make your own messageboard. Fansofed.com or something like that.

I'm surpised at how many posts have been on-the-money in this topic. I was ready to fucking hurl when I heard this news. Live has become a farce. Seriously, how can we take them seriously anymore. And to everyone who says that this will bring Live more publicity, I heartily say, Fuck that. I am so fucking past caring whether or not Live's music is popular (and the same can be said of most artists I like). Really, why should we give a flying fuck if The River gets more airtime on the radio, or if Live's music becomes exposed to more people, or if Nickleback-fans (those assholes) get introduced to Live, or this or that. I can't think of a better fucking way to degrade your own music and embarrass yourself than this. People, face it. Live has sold out. Just another 90's band that sold out in the end. And frankly, I hope this is Live's last album, because releasing increasingly shittier music and exposing the extent to which they have become washed-up only damages their reputation, in the eyes of me and many others. Why should Live sacrifice (what used to be) their musical integrity in order to appeal to the mainstream? Why the fuck should they even bother going on releasing albums? They say they're still on their little spiritual mission, but I seriously couldn't give less of a fuck. I hate seeing one of my favorite bands ever going straight to the dumps.

Oh yeah, and Nickleback blows.

Sorry to come back and start off with such a harangue against the band. Actually, I'm not sorry. Live just sucks this much, I'm afraid to say. They should be ashamed of themselves.

This from the man who has seen Live 0 times in concert and who complains about the setlist for the shows he doesn't attend.

Live signed with a major label. They are now expected to back up their contract and sell albums. That means playing shows that help bring in new fans. Selling out? It is doing your job. Live is making music they believe in, and while it may not make all of their old fans happy, it is different and their new album has a real shot to bring the band a great increase in popularity. Not a bad thing at all.....

LOL! Since you're basically the person on here who only cares about popularity/publicity/radio airtime/picking up new fans, rather than about the quality of Live's music, why am I even bothering to respond to you? Why in fuck does it matter if I've seen zero shows? That doesn't mean I don't know anything about Live's music. Does it automatically give you superiority if you've been to more shows than I have? No, I didn't think it did. Why does it matter. I can still tell when a band is selling out to mainstream rather than making valuable music. Obviously you can't. Instead, you'd just rather dwell on how they signed with a new record label and how they're going to increase their popularity and how they're going play shows that may bring in new fans, and so on. So, I say to you, see in music the artistic components and not the popularity factor. Because when judged by their recent albums, Live is just another sellout in a long list of 90's bands. Except this is more painful to watch (and listen to).

I like the new music. I like the old music. I don't feel there has been a drop in quality whatsoever. I like the direction the band is going in, and think the new songs are really amazing. The lyrics are powerful and the songs are catchy and just fun to listen to. So to say I don't care about quality is just plain false. I liked We Deal in Dreams, but I thought it was a sub-par single for the band. The River is just a better song for the radio and in my opinion the best single Live has released in quite sometime.

You haven't noticed quality drop at all? Songs like Operation Spirit, Pillar of Davidson, Ghost, Face and Ghost, The Distance, Gas hed goes west ... to ... The River?

Just because the River isn't overally complex doesn't mean it doesn't have good lyrics and a good message. People can identify with the River, because we all would like our pain eased every now and then. I feel it really is a beautiful song that I can identify with through certain points of my life. Operation, POD, etc., while are great songs, they would make poor radio singles in todays market. Also, I feel Mystery holds up lyrically and musically to any of the previous songs you have mentioned.

Just my opinion......

Jimmy wants to live in some fantasy land where fans shower him with love, gifts and flowers when the reality of it is most of us appreciate the chance to meet the band, meet the band, thank him, and MOVE on. He keeps going back to this appreciation thing like it doesn't or has never existed.

Well said.....

From the e-mail, it seemed Jimmy just wanted to impress some attractive girls with his ability to give out backstage passes. He probably didn't think the girl would actually e-mail him for the actual pass. Whether Jimmy thinks I'm ungrateful or that Heather, Jen, Mets or anyone else is too negative, should never factor in if he gives someone else a pass. That is just ridiculous.

The band should hire a professional person to organize meet and greets. The way Jimmy is running it now is very high school, in my opinion. I have the power to hand out passes, does anyone want to do back-flips to meet the band?

Is not liking them, or thinking they make terrible music really "negative" though?

YES! Especially if you spend hours everyday on a FANSoflive message board. There are plenty of bands I don't care for, but I don't hang out or post there on a regular basis. The only reason you post here is to stir crap. I couldn't think of any other reason to spend most of my online time on a website of a band I dislike. Maybe thats just me though

So SJN1279.. You only care for Live to have a hit single on a Pop/Rock chart? What ever happened to releasing an album full of great songs such as (MJ-TDTH). Too many great bands that had and still could have the potential to do this are falling away from that, and falling apart from that at the same time. It also seems to me that Live are trying to get these "hits" songs since V and I don't think it's working out, unless you have a good album of songs to back it up with.

The new songs I heard in Atlantic City were great. I personally liked the River and think it will fit well on todays radio. Most songs from MJ-TDTH would not make it on radio today, and if LIVE is going to a major label, they need hit songs. Its a business, plain and simple.

The band is progressing with the times. It is a means of survival. They need the teens from today to buy their albums and dig their music just like they need us to keep buying their stuff. There are darker songs from their new album, but the River will work better on the radio. Hear the songs before you judge.

Oh when I saw the title of this thread I didn't know it would be about song lengths. I thought it would be more about how Live never tours and how they can't play Iris because they have kids.

Um LIVE just played 3 shows within 3 hours of your house. Also, they are one of the few bands that you can see play ever year whether they have an album out or not. Most importantly, why complain about a band not touring if you don't even like them?
You bitch about getting picked on, but you open yourself up for it. If I went on Seal's message board and starting ripping him, I'd expect his fans to rip on me. I usually don't agree with Mcpheesy, but I respect the fact he expects to get ripped on after ripping on LIVE.

Talking shit about LIVE on THEIR message board is the equivalent of going onto a church message board and saying Jesus sucks, he hasn't toured in the last 2,000 years. If you don't want to get "attacked" stop bashing on LIVE on their message board. Otherwise, you can bash on LIVE all you like but expect me to rip on when you do so......free speech works both ways.
