If they never do another thing they'll at least have some dignity. The only thing worse than those EK full band performances is your insistence that it somehow amounts to something worthwhile. The fact that CCP don't resort to doing whatever they can to line their pockets is somehow seen as a negative? They're out doing all kinds of risky things, starting new bands, starting a label, rehabbing old buildings, making movies, investing in their community and somehow this pales in comparison to what Ed is doing? Get real.

Your post is wonderful, it also shows sjn's circling around how he says ccp are doing Live for the $$... clearly as we know factually what Ccp are doing, yet another failed assumption on the trolls part. His head spins around so much and so fast the coward really has no spine.

Since the break-up in 2009, Ed has worked his butt off and performed numerous concerts all over the world. CCP not so much(outside a brief tour with TGF).

I'd rather see one more LIVE 2.0 or TGF show then 100 Eddie K shows. High number of shows does not equate to quality troll boy.

I've seen numerous Ed shows and you always get a solid variety(full band, solo acoustic, trio, open wings broken strings). Ed always puts on a great show IMHO. If some on here don't enjoy his performances, thats cool. I don't enjoy CCP performing as LIVE with a very average frontman trying to do his best 90's Ed imitation.

Take the penises out of your ears. Shinn sounds like Shinn.
Ed doesn't sound like Ed anymore. Only way he sounds like old vintage ed is to use the autotune device on his mike.

Ed sounds different than he did in the mid-90s, but Ed is also no longer 20
years old. .He still has a powerful and distinct sounding voice.

Shinn sounds like an average singer you can find in your local bar any night of the week. He has limited stage presence, and a very limited vocal range.

Oh here we freakin' go again......vocal coach and jock sniffer extraordinaire making judgements on voice and stage presence. Remind me what school of music and/or music journal do you work for???

......and before you try to spin it back to me I am a published journalist, I worked in the music/radio business for more than a decade, and yet I still would never come on here and claim judgement on Chris Shinn's vocal ability and/or stage presence. Now as far as my judgement on EK's vocals I can say that there has been a noticeable drop off and it is a shame that has happened. That is not a negative bashing statement just something that is easily understood by comparing video. Like I said EK is better off in an intimate acoustic setting and no longer trying to be a front man for a Rock (not RAWK) band. That is not a slap in the face purely the facts of the matter.

Hey I heard Justin Bieber offered solid variety on tour, maybe you should go check him out!

Props to Good Pain, I agree...it will be better for Ed to stop the rock shows and concentrate only on acoustic. That has always worked very well.

I agree with you! Ed does sound different then he did in the mid - 90s. He sounds like somebody chopped his balls off, put them in a jar, and placed them on your night stand so that you could worship them and kiss them good night before you go to bed each night.

I don't agree with the former, but even if it WERE true...

Average bar singer with limited range and stage presence > Ed butchering the classics.

So I take it you frequent a lot of bars and catch local bands regularly? I doubt it. That's an insult to the many great singers and bands that play regularly in local bars. Some haven't gotten breaks, some are content playing local bars, some have gotten big breaks and as they got older decided to step back and just play locally. I doubt you have any idea about your local music scene.

The fact is, you have no clue about what makes a great rock singer or band. Your comments are lifted right from Simon Cowell, hardly someone I would associate as an expert on rock music. The entire music scene has been American Idolized to the extent that there is hardly anything that pushes the envelope in music anymore. Vocal range is hardly a factor in what makes rock music successful. Stage presence may be a factor, but then you've never seen CS on stage so what the fuck would you know. You'd never be able to make an objective evaluation anyway with your disdain for Live and your American Idol criteria.
