Alternatively, rookie mistake for a female to open herself up to that on a sausage-fest board?

Or, another thought, no big deal all around?

QUOTE(Badman @ Jul 2 2012, 5:07 am) *

You guys should be ashamed of yourselves. Don't hide behind your anonymity on the internet to reduce a woman down to her breasts and certainly don't blame them for wearing what the stores mainly have for sale. It is this kind of sexism that keeps women off this board and we wonder why it is such a sausage-fest around here. We are lucky to finally have female representatives of the live fanbase and they deserve a hell of a lot more respect than you are giving them.

In fact, such comments sound like something Ed Kowalczyk would say. I recall him saying "blowjobs don't count as sex" to female fans after shows. Quit being like Ed and have a little respect for the ladies.

Thankyou Badman.

I'm sorry I lowered myself with my comments.

But for real, I'm making salami today laugh.gif

Settle down dude. First of all she knows I'm kidding. Second of all she brought the topic up.

Are you sure it was Ed who said that? I was under the impression it was another band member (though I could be wrong).

There's also a classic article in some magazine where Matt Gracey (guitar tech for Live) describes how he treats groupies on tour...

But back on topic - does anybody have any info on these new songs? Track titles even?

Back down, she's not going to go on a date with you for being her knight in shining armor. It's all said in fun and I doubt (or at least hope) that she wasn't seriously offended or felt sexually violated in some way.

3 points:

1) The consensus seemed to be that they disliked men ogling at them and considered it creepy/disrespectful. Then male board members ask for tits and ass shots anonymously on the internet as a response because no one takes women seriously. Even joking it isn't respectful at all. Do they ask to see your paychecks?

2) What about the women who see the board and don't make an account because of the comments?

3) I am married and would stand up for women's rights for reasons other than getting in their pants. I'd stand up for gay rights if posts were made denigrating them as well.

This thread isn't even about this... it is about how uncool ed is for saying "rawk."
/thread I'm not looking at this anymore

Response to the nonsense:

Wouldn't even care if she asked about my paycheck and I would be glad to show it.

I doubt the reason why women don't register here is because of the comments.

What are you going on about? Woman's rights? What "right" has been violated? No one is saying that women don't have the right to vote or anything.

Again, I made a joke. Lighten the fuck up.

Although, if I made a comment along the lines of "Yeah, one night back stage Shakira and J-Lo wanted to double-team me", I would expect the females (and gay guys perhaps) to be curious regarding my looks. It's not anything offensive or derogatory. We are human and we find other humans attractive. It's in our nature so the over-sensitive liberal ass pussification (RIP George Carlin) political righteous can be put to bed now.

Actually I read here for a couple of years before I dared joined in. Lots of testosterone! Women put up with a lot of shit they shouldn't...so Badman's right and what a guy for coming out and saying something.

My point that I was trying to make to zman was that Ed is just as/if not more disrespectful than anything that's been said about him in this thread. All I wanted to do was ask if I could take a photo and he didn't even have the decency to look above my cleavage to listen to me.

And jeez PurdueSteve - we are talking Ed K here...not in the same league as Shakira and J-Lo.

Point still stands, even if the illustration is more obvious.

The testosterone that you refer to, that put you off before, I believe I know what you're referring to. It wasn't the same as what was in this thread.. Those "testosterone" ridden members were shitty to everyone, regardless if you had boobs or balls, but when they were shitty to the boob-equipped members it seemed even more shitty.

I can't think of any particular cases where women were specifically singled out and held differently than men. Sure it was immature so it made it a "man's land" or whatever but there hasn't been any ill treatment of women for the sake of being a woman. (I'm sure a person was mistreated that just so happened to be at woman, that's different, as the "abuse" was pretty consistent regardless who the target was).

Now, if you want example of what this board was in general offensive towards, and that's gays.

Really?! I read for like two minutes before joining in. But that's because the first thread I read was Liverocks going back and forth with someone.... it was fascinating to me the level of drama considering all the participants were guys.

And yeah, Badman is anything but a bad man.

I don't actually know the gender of most members on here. Doesn't matter, really.
