This will start to resonate with Ed the business man. As this happens more and more, and gets worse and worse as Ed gets farther removed from Live, his asking price will be driven lower and lower. Eventually his bank account will really feel it. And then he will try to pretend to be whatever he has to be to get back with Live. And I hope that they leave him out in the cold. I hope CCP + C become commercially successful. And I hope the new Live album gets critical acclaim and the music industry says "Live is back!".

You must be smoking CCCP's weed.....

PS It was 92 degrees at the Phillies game last Thursday:

Serious? Biggest festivals here are always in summer and 100 + degrees is no deterrent to fans. Always packed out.

First Milli Vanilli blamed it on the rain, now Nick blames it on the heat. Pure comedy.

Definitely much better then what Ed has been smoking the last 10 years. Ed is now a solo acoustic act - Dump the band and strip it down. Writing a decent tune (outside of the Live catalog) here and there might help ticket sales as well...

Classic. Next time he doesn't sell out some dump of a bar it will be because the air conditioner was set too low and people don't like to be that cold.

I know it is a stretch to compare them but Woodstock 99 was a furnace.

Point is if people really want to go they will.

If people are sitting at home thinking "Hmm, I could go see Ed, the former lead singer of Live, but it is really hot. I think I will stay inside and watch Joel Osteen on television." then Ed doesn't really matter to them.

Either way you try to spin it the fact is still that Ed didn't have enough pull to get people to come see him.

No one wanted to go see the "EK".

Give me a break with this heat BS. Doesn't stop anyone from going to Coachella and spending an entire weekend in the blazing heat in the middle of the desert.

NC LIVE at the Factory is far from Coachella in scope. A 104 degree record temperature definitely will hurt walk up attendance for a show like that as opposed to an event festival like Coachella.

That said Ed still drew a good sized crowd for the show and the majority had an awesome time despite the heat from the reports that I read.

I guess if it was Beiber that night he would have drawn the same based on your theory.

Ed's out there touring, playing shows, and having fun. I am pretty sure he will continue on this path for this forseable future. 2012 is a booked year with more to come in 2013. I have my tickets and I'm excited to keep the train moving.

Ahh, I love a good fight about crowd size, venues, Ed's popularity, and the impact of weather patterns on concert attendance! yay.gif yay.gif Almost as much as I love the smell of napalm in the morning.

I love the smell of napalm in the morning

Sometimes this message board reminds me of that clip. And OutToDry reminds me of the lines delivered by Robert Duvall's character, Kilgore, in that clip. Someday this war is gonna end. In the meantime, I'll just enjoy the smell.

By the way - if I may make a brief holiday-appropriate statement - If it wasn't for George Washington, and the signers of the Declaration of Independance, we in the U.S. wouldn't be able to have these very important debates! Happy Independance Day every one!

I'd like to think that most people are like me and a concert is a big thing. If I spend money on a concert and it says NON-REFUNDABLE in big letters, I would let nothing stop me from being there so I wouldn't feel like I wasted any money. I'd cross war zones, brave bears with laser helmets, or even face 5 o clock texas traffic with no AC to be there.
