Oh my gosh, what a trip down memory lane, with all these old usernames and comments! I love it. How do people dig these up? Can we get whole bunch of old thread revived? It's fun.

I was looking at what other users were reading and a guest was reading this topic, so I clicked on it.
My jaw literally dropped when I read this comment from SJN because I've only ever seen the hardcore biased propaganda machine that he is today.(had to use that)

SOY is an acronym for "Straight Outa York". That was the title of Live's official website and message board. The web addreess was at www.friendsoflive.com. It had the title Straight Outa York all over it. They used to send newsletters with that monicker too, I think. The SOY board was the band's official message board run by Jimmy Lang. It was much more civil and controlled. It ceased to exist when Live ended in 2009.

As an aside, the "Outa" from SOY is where the "Outa" in my screen name comes from. The "Water" is the metaphor for spiritual consciousness, which is used in many of live's lyrics. The "Fish" is the metaphor for humans like all of us, which is also used in Live's lyrics. I am a Fish Outa Water - in other words, a person who is on the dry riverside. A spritual seeker who would like to live in the flow of spiritual awakening, but alas, I can't seem to rescue myself. A Fish Outa Water.

Sorry. I don't know why I elaborated on all of that. I just Thought that is someone wasn't familiar with SOY, then the Outa in my screem name might not make sense.

Not to speak for Nick, but my recollectoin is that Nick developed a more favorable opinion of Ed around Birds of Pray or Radiant Sea, and then turned hard in favor of Ed and against CCP as recently as the Spring of 2009 when the band was playing its final shows. By the time Chad Taylor criticized Ed on social media and announced Kevin Martin as the lead singer of TGF, Nick became a hard core biased propaganda machine.

I wish that somebody could get Jimmy Lang to find the old thread on the SOY board where Nick trashed Ed after meeting him the first time. That would be a good time capsule.

Great post, Nick. It's a shame the responses don't agree. Based on the responses you've gotten and the juxtaposition of that attitude and your positive attitude, perhaps it might be time for you to come back to friendsoflive.com like the prodigal son

SJN....[color="#0000ff"]I'm sure he received the e-mail that I sent. If he doesn't want me on SOY thats cool, but I'd just like to hear him tell me himself.

I was removed from friendsoflive without being told nearly a year ago. I guess he feels I don't even deserve an explanation as to why I can't post or read the message board. He runs the board and he can choose to remove whoever he wants, but if someone takes the time to e-mail you, it is just polite to respond.

Guess what this was for!!! I used the prodigal son in speaking of Ed returning, Fish was years ahead with SJN and his banning from FOL.
