Religion is funny.

If you don't do it exactly like someone else then you are wrong and that applies to the non-religious too.

Everyone is smarter than everyone because no one wants to be wrong about something that is potentially eternal.

According to every religion, every other religion or variation of religion is wrong. You have the "once saved always saved" folks, or the God is wrathful folks, or the God is love folks and blah blah.

According to the non-religious, who "don't want you to push your beliefs on them, man" have no problem pushing thier opposite beliefs on you and making fun of you because religion is your "crutch" and blah blah.

All because they, religious and non, have convinced themselves that they are right because this is the ONE thing that you don't want to be on the wrong side of.

The truth is that the right answer isn't there. No one really knows what is exactly right or if there even is a right answer. So people do what they want and justify to themselves that whatever they are doing is "right".

I don't think so, at least not completely...imo anyway.

Personally, I don't believe my beliefs are necessarily right. I think they could just as easily be wrong....if they are however I'm not worried that there will be repercussions in the "end".
I know that I have them because they feel right for me and I don't believe God will fault me for them as He knows my truest feelings and why I believe what I do.

I also could never judge someone else's beliefs, or think less of the person because of what they believe, be them devout or atheist.
I'm not in favor of someone's beliefs affecting others lives. You are 100% allowed your chosen course in life, just do not try to force others to follow the same road or adhere to your beliefs ie. gay marriage, abortion, etc.

Not to shamelessly promote my blog - but just yesterday I posted a blog entry about Mental Jewelry that discusses the spiritual impact of that album in quite some detail. I hope that people check it out - I would love to know what people think of my blog:

Empty Your Jewelry Box

A pretty good read and on topic so I don't think it is an out-of-line posting. You literally say in your article "These songs actually have the power to change your life" which is what I was suggesting in the topic explanation. I would suggest adding more pictures to your articles and increase the spacing between text lines

----

For me, I discovered Live my senior year of high school and lurked here for 6 months in 2006 before making an account. The following year I went to my first year of college (real, not community college) and the music taught me something; We are free to define our own morality. I joined a campus group for the non-religious and set to reading self-improvement books (7 habits) and listening to live and was inspired. It is harder for an Atheist... you have to construct what is right and wrong from the ground up (illegal activity as the exception).

Susquehanna taught me that faith isn't enough... when you are thirsty something may look good but it may be poison spread socially. This can be applied to politics, religion, racist scapegoating, or even office politics.

The first lines of TDaOC taught me not to live in the past.

Selling the Drama taught me the concept of mental rape. Useful for understanding the insidious effects of pornography and disney media images

Mirror song taught me that life's issues usually come down to focusing on yourself too much. depression, rage, sadness... we are all so self-focused and it really paints how we see the world.

Some things I still do not understand... hope is a letter that never arrives delivered by the postman of my fear has always mystified me.

And no OTD, I put this picture here before I saw your rant about pics.
