Do you mind if I ask your "story," Briburge?
You've been here since 2006, so you were a Live fan at one time.
Or were you strictly an Ed fan even then?
I'm not asking to jump on you, but rather because I don't know, an attempt to know the players, if you will.

Live fan since 93. I have seen them more times than I can count. Was on live-web then this site since it started. Didn't post until break up and all the anti Ed shit. I am not really on one side or another. I am not just an ed fan I have met all of the band members a few times and they were all cool. It has been years of great albums and great shows. I recognize a dramatic dropoff on the quality of music since tdth. Not a huge fan of The ed christianity thing. Wasn't a big fan of alive or tgf with the exception of some songs. My mind is open to new Ed and new live but I'm not terribly optimistic. I would rather the original lineup be intact even if it was just playing old songs. I would continue to see them twice a year and have hope they would go back to writing as a team. Not holding my breath. Since the split I thought Chad bad mouthing Ed was weak. Also thought it was sad when they then wanted him back after all of that stuff. Oh, and Otd's constant anti Ed or anti nick posts give me the douche chills. He is a big know it all and if you disagree with him he is angry and lashes out.

I only get angry at 3 people at this site. I rag on you because you get your panties in a twist over who I choose rant on....which is 2 other people. And since you can't accept the fact that Chad openly apologized about going public on ripping Ed? Not sure why you carry that grudge like a mopey dog. You think its sad that they wanted him back? Why, because Chad chose trying to repair his friendship and other things. I'm so so sorry you're pure bent out of shape over it. I realize you're a longtime fan, but Ed's attitude, ego and his douchebag nature is to blame for why we are in this situation. You just don't understand things son.

So you notice a huge drop off since TDTH, you don't really like Alive, you don't like Ed's Christian move, you don't like TGF, you don't like CCP's actions, you're not terribly optimistic about the future, you don't really like the people who post here ... man I gotta admire your tenacity to stick around since it seems nothing in this realm at all has really pleased you since 1999.

Agree with Hobbsy, well done Briburge. I have to admit to a certain amount of envy that you've been able to see original Live so many times. I have only YouTube clips, etc. (grateful for those though).
I'm of the opinion that there is nothing wrong with wanting Live in it's original formation.
Although I love CS's take on all the songs I've heard so far, I understand not every Live fan is going to feel that way. Nor should you be expected to; we like what we like.
As far as the whole SJN, OTD, anti ED stuff...it is what it is, to a certain degree.
I do think SJN and others are entitled to their opinion, even if it isn't a popular one.
By the same token others will respond. Sure, it'd be great if there weren't name calling etc. but again, it is what it is.

Good point. Sad huh? I like almost everyone who posts here except for a small few who I find to be abusive to others. I am not optimistic but there was such power and energy given to me from these four people in my life I choose to hold on to some hope. I don't discount all of what they have done since tdth. I like alot of tracks (love some) even some of off tgf new cd. I will buy the next one too. Great houses is real good. And since 99 I have enjoyed all of the live shows I have seen. Def not as powerful and angry but neither am I.

OTD said it best before when he suggested take everything with a grain of salt. We got a rare glimpse into what had been going on in the band when CT wrote his passionate blog piece. Ed's ego driven behavior drove a wedge in the band and well beyond. If CT's words weren't enough to enlighten anyone then the first person accounts from friends, family members, other band members, crew, and business associates should be. Amazingly we have never heard from anyone like this in Ed's camp come to his defense or refute anything that has been shared. Only fans that give the two sides to every story argument. If you haven't figured out, there aren't two sides to this story. Ed will not be coming back to Live anytime soon. I can't even imagine the amount of negotiating and bloodletting that would need to occur to make that happen. Putting it out there that they'd like to have him back is hardly some weak move to get him back. Put your thinking cap on people. Remember, grain of salt.
