If Live makes a splash you don't think Ed would try to capitalize on it? Hell, he has been riding Live since he got kicked out of the band. Why wouldn't he keep doing it when the wave is even bigger?

That is a HUGE if. And Live has had barely any publicity since Ed left the band (whether he quit or was kicked out). The news of Chris Shinn joining the band was big here on this website, and got some minor attention, but it was far from a splash.

And anyhow, of COURSE Ed would try to capitalize on it. It wouldn't make sense if he didn't.

He was in the band for a very long time and in some ways, among some people, he WAS the band. I'm not saying I agree with that but if you take the average casual music fan from the 90's and put them in a room with CCP and Ed, they might recognize Ed, they would not recognize the others.

Briburge, isn't there a toxic swamp you can drink from bud?

MF has said some truths there, but I dont think it matters in the scheme of things. This is about a band, an idea, a feeling the sound gives the listener, the message.

Those feelings dissappeared a long time ago when the balance was tilted to the Polish Wonder.

The band will be given back to the real true fans of Live!!! It's already underway.

Also don't speak to positive about CCP and the direction they are trying to take Live. And don't place any blame on Ed and don't be critical of him, otherwise you will have a CCP fan say something like:
