gee I thought Patrick would have been the straight as one. Guess you never know for sure. A couple of my closest friends (high school vice principal and school teacher) are off their faces most weekends shrug.gif Sometimes I imagine what the high school kids would think of their vice principal during her finest hours.

I would have thought that was AWESOME.

Note: I don't do drugs.

I'm sure the kids would at her school. It's a bit alternative! But she is awesome. Groupie from a young age. She went out with one of the AC/DC drummers as a young chick and they still have her backstage if she's in the country where they are performing! Pretty cool!

Sorry to dig this thread up, but the topic of CCP being lazy has popped up on a handful of other threads and instead of starting an all new thread on this topic I thought I'd bump this one.

Anyhow, I played sports all my life and got free college because of it, but aspects of sports mirror damn near everything. So this is what I see from Ed vs. CCP as it would relate to sports.

In basketball you are often told not to force it. Let the game come to you. Don't force shots, just be patient and let it come to you. Otherwise you force it and end up taking bad shots.

It sounds to me like Ed was trying to force everything and it showed in the music. I don't think CCP were lazy. I think they let the music come to them.

good analogy WD. They had stuff which has been rejected and it's been a slow reveal from 2003 til TGF. I think with new Live, same thing applies, let it come!

another thing to point out, i wonder how Matt G will receive Ed at the CB show. He's CB's roadie for their current tour.

You can't put time constraints on creativity. CCP take a creative approach which takes more time than it does to just manufacture the cookie cutter crap that Ed is putting out.

And in fairness, I have given CCP shit for being so slow. However, in my defense, it was easier NOT to give them shit when SS or TDTH were still somewhat recent.

Now they (Live) are taking forever after putting out something with SFBM being the most recent.

I guess I need to factor TGF in. That would settle my impatience a little bit.

I don't get what KM was trying to say about Ed being a hard worker or whatever he said. I've never thought of musicians as workers. I don't think of any artists as workers, at least in the creative process. Maybe Ed wanted to churn out a bunch of music but I don't see it working that way. In fact, I've heard of artists buckling under the pressure of those types of environments. Want to shut down someone's creativity, start putting some constraints or expectations over their heads. I get it once you've made it to the studio or released the music. But not in the creative process.
