My main point is this: I don't want to hear anyone saying that "it is Ed's choice" or "it is up to Ed whether he comes back" or "they should work it out". I don't want to hear any of that. If Shinn has joined Live, then that's it. The door is closed to Ed. We've moved on. I know what I saw in York at the Rehearsal show and it was amazing. I've listened to the 4 re-recorded songs many times and it sounds terrific. There can be no looking back because to do so undermines Shinn's legitamacy as the lead singer of Live. They don't need to work it out with Ed nor should they.

My second point is that I am looking for them to reach out to the fans on the web page and soical media and email a bit more frequently. Let the fans know that they are pleased with what they are working on and excited about it. So they can build fan excitement and anticipation.

I firmly believe there is no question about CS's role in Live at this point.
I do believe it was a possibility Ed would come back if he wanted to before the March show in York, but once on stage with CCP, I'm pretty sure CS is the man. Period. Ed made a decision when he left the band, and, OTD would know better than I, but I'm pretty sure there was at least an attempt at communication with the possibility of Ed's return under the original 25/25/25/25 collaboration scheme.
Clearly Ed has moved on to the cardboard drum set.

Chris Shinn is the man. And a worthy, and capable man at that. The York show convinced me. Talking to him after only sealed the deal for me even more.

But I cannot forsee a scenario in the near or even remotely distant future where CCP drop CS (after the York and SXSW shows - and now recording with him) to take Ed back.
I'm not saying a reunion 10 years from now is impossible.
Shit, nuclear winter 10 years from now is possible. I'll not speculate on what will happen in 10 years.

But this year, this summer... I expect LIVE music, with Mr. Shinn leading the vocals. and I'm pumped. (I'd be even more pumped with a 15 second audio clip...)

Ed isn't coming back - he doesn't want to. That's already been stated by both him and CCP.

As far as I can see, Ed's happy just going it alone - happy to scab as much money as he can through false advertising, misrepresentation and being a media slut.
