When's this?

Ed and Candlebox will be performing at the same venue in Three Forks, Montana on August 10. Here's a link to the thread discussing it: http://www.fansoflive.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=4483

Damn... I've got a one track mind. I spend all my time in Live Central and I miss out on other activity on the forum.

Don't forget cb and ed have to share a stage later in the year. And yes grains of salt. hi.gif

So he was complimentary to Ed only because of the upcoming Three Forks show?
That's a hard sell, OTD.

Also, I have a question...why is it KM can speak of wanting Ed and CCP to get back together, but if anyone here expresses a similar thought they are torn to shreds?

*disclaimer...I'm very happy with CS as lead and do not pine for Ed to return. Just very curious why y'all aren't ripping KM.

i took it as Kevin wanting them to get the friendship back together. I think he's the only sane person in Live-land.

Lol, why would people be surprised that a bunch of muso's smoke weed and are lazy. Every fucking musician i know is the same. And they smell.

Yes, of course...but he specifically says a couple of times, work it guys, work it out, it's a great band. So I'd say he obviously would like and/or thinks they should be back together.
Why is it so awful for fans here to want him back and express it?
And I'm not speaking about you Wam, I've never seen you give anyone shit for wanting Ed back.

Hard sell? Did you listen to the interview, did you understand how things were stated?

Making peace with Ed doesn' t mean he's coming back to be the singer.

Don't put words in my mouth, OTD...I said KM would like to see them back together, not that Ed was coming back if there were peace in the valley again.

The hard sell is saying KM was talking up Ed because they will be sharing a stage soon.
Yes, I did listen to the interview, hence this is where my comments come from.

I didnt hear Kev say yes get back together, the DJ did. Kev said 'work it out' which means fix their differences.

He's not going to get in between thier differences. There are relationships here. I don't know Kev's real feelings about Ed, so why would he benefit of blasting him on the air. Kev is a straight shooter but w/o knowing how he feels.....why cause a rift. Go read his comments here about the future show.

I didn't say he would get between them.
When the dj says get back together, KM gives a little nod and says work it out, it's a great band, not it's a great friendship.
Those are his own words, not mine.
There is a big difference between blasting Ed on the air and talking him up, which is what Kevin did.
And I have read his comments about the show, which is why I said it was unlikely that he was patting Ed on the back because of the future show.
*Aye carumba I think I edited this like 4 times.

Wait... are you saying I'm causing a rift by giving my opinion and wondering why no one is jumping on KM for his comments?
So be it, a rift causer I am.

OutToDry has stated several times on these message boards that if Ed wants to come back it's up to him, the door is open. Now here is Kevin saying that he is telling the guys to "work it out" because they were a great band. And Kevin said he wants them to "work it out" a month after he announced Shinn as Live's new singer in York.

My point, and the reason that I wrote that long story about the ex-girlfriend and the new girlfriend, is that this is not how you make Shinn and the fans feel that the door has been closed, the band has moved on, and they have a new lead singer. A new lead singer should mean that they are done with Ed and they will not take him back as the singer no matter what happens, because his role as lead singer is over for good and they have a NEW lead singer now.

That has to be the message in order to move forward and for fans to fully accept Shinn. Otherwise it is a farse. A Plan B. A placeholder. A waiting game until they patch things up. The reason that I posted that ex-girlfriend thing is - how would the new girlfriend feel (and how should my friends and family accept her) when my close friends are telling telling me to "work it out" with the old girlfriend and my friends like OutToDry is out there saying that it was all the old birlfriend's choice and my door is open to her and all she needs to do is decide to move back in.

P.S. - I don't have the tenacity to weed through OutToDry's 10,000 posts to try and find those comments, but I remember responding to them when they were made with some level of discomfort because OutToDry has given many indications in this board that he is more in the know than most of us and so I take what he says without any grains of salt.

My point is that if Chris Shinn is the lead singer of Live then I want to be fully vested with no looking back. If there is not a 100% commitment to him by the band, then I don't want any of it.

Otd, should we take everything with a grain of salt, even the "mischaracterizations" of Ed or just the things thAt don't jive with what you think?

Because Chris Shinn is the lead singer of Live. The guys have moved on and so should everyone else. I don't think it's awful that people want Ed back but I think it's how they go about it that sucks. Calling Chris a cover band singer, etc...

Now if Shinn flaked or CCP decide Ed is back in the band then I will gladly walk away from Live and this site. No need to waste my time bitching about something that I have no control over. The guys will be the ones that live with their decision and that's cool with me.
