Agreed. The Strand show seems so long ago. Hopefully they get in the groove here shortly, but yet again I'm not holding my breath.

On the flip side I can see why the guys are taking their time. This really could be their last chance to save Live. If this version of Live fails then that's probably it. They will always have their talent and side projects. I'm not ready for Live to reunite with Ed in 10 years for a nostalgia tour...

I understand taking a long time on the record, but I don't understand taking so long to get out on there on the road. Especially after two shows that were successes by any measurable standard.

They will definitely need some shows soon just to knock of the rust again. Any momentum gained by those two shows and website launch has been lost.

Yep. Which wouldn't be the case if there was just a little bit of interaction. Web video or sound clip or 2 minute mash up of a recording session. Just find some high school kid that can turn on a camera and post a video to the website. Call him an intern. Pay him in tacos. Doesn't really matter, just do something.

One thing they could do is release/send out whatever we were supposed to get for signing up to the website.

Muse has a new cd coming out in September. Today they released their first trailer for the album. In the meantime they've been releasing short videos and various images during the recording process. That at the very least gets the job done in the meantime.

I keep using them as an example but during the recording process the lead singer of Halestorm would tweet snippets of lyrics. She got a big response on Twitter of people tweeting back.

Halestorm also put up videos like this on their website. This stuff isn't hard or time consuming. It doesn't need incredible production value. Just turn on the camera.

Hell, you can record a pretty good quality video with an iPhone, click TWO buttons, and it is on YouTube.

Based on Chris Shinn's Tweets, he is not even in York. Are they rehearsing together? Are they writing songs? Why aren't they together? They announced the re-formation of Live without Ed in July 2011 and "launched" the new website address in the first week of August 2011. Then they launched the first content on their website in March 2012 and have not made a single update to the site since it was launched. It is now June 2012 and there is very little progress to be seen. Live seems to be higher on my priority list than theirs - I think I spend more time on this message board than they are spending on Live rehearsals and song-writing.

Are things working well with Chris? In the song-writing department? With Kevin Martin it came naturally. Is that not so with Chris? Are they working out issues with the performance? Chris seemed frustrated with his performace (forgetting lines) at the rehearsal show. I just want to know the status of things and maybe get some hints ata roadmap for the future.

Oh, and back on topic - Ed's performances are getting worse and worse. He is not just on another planet. He keeps hopping from planet to planet, getting farther and farther away from this planet. It's turning into a freak show.

I admit that. I have nothing else to do.

I guess with Live, I sort of feel like the fans are partners with the band in the whole Live thingy. It's not just a band. It's our band. When someone like Ed Kowalczyk or Nick crap on the band, we defend it vigorously like a family member was just insulted. When they are off making new music, it's our music as fans. So I get passionate, and I speculate and wonder what's up. And I won't stop until I find out. And I root for them, and I want them to succeed. And I want to help them.

What can I say. Maybe freaks was the right monicker. shrug.gif

I have plenty of awesome music to listen to (hell just discovered two great artists today!) but I was at the Strand show and saw what Live can still do. I don't understand why they aren't out there doing it.

We always like to use they phrase "they don't owe us anything" but considering how much stuff has been promised and not delivered on... they probably actually owe us something by now. lol.gif

I guess they are either tied up with trying to raise money to make Live happen, or just busy with other projects. Who knows which, I just wish (like many) that they would be less secretive about the new music. That is a very '90s mindset that I thought they had gotten out of with TGF.

And IF (big if) they are waiting on Sean... just yikes. Live never needed more than 4 people. I dig what Sean does but they don't need him to get on the road.

Just some more speculation and whining for Pokey.

You gotta crap on Ed or Nick when they try to crap on the band, that's part of your duty as a Live fan!

I just don't get why everyone is going so nuts over the whole "loss of momentum" thing, like I said earlier, there was no momentum before the York show was announced and then suddenly it was all there. Once the next big thing is finally announced it'll come back again. They could be doing more to interact in the mean time - videos, sound clips etc, but they aren't and don't seem like they're about to yet, so...

It'll all happen, you can speculate about a million different scenarios - CS stubbed his toe while he was carrying coffee for CG and spilled it so CG got mad and threw CS out the window and hence the long delay.
CT spends his nights moonlighting as a can of pepsi. I dunno. Whatever they're doing, they're working on it in their own way. We whinged and moaned about TGF before it came out (even though we got a couple of videos and such while it was happening). Then the album dropped and we were gob smacked at how amazing it was and those of us in the US, Canada and UK were lucky enough to see them live and all was forgotten.
This won't be any different, just know that at some point down the track it'll be album release day and you'll be rocking the fuck out to it and all this waiting will seem like a distant memory.
It'll happen.

KM had some interesting things to say about CCP in that interview that Dangum recently posted in the CB thread. Maybe he's on to something? As far as Ed's performance, I say this with the utmost respect to Z-Man, but Ed's performance sort of reminded me of Z-Man's PLOTR performance. Like a cover band doing an decent job. Never thought Ed would remind me of a cover band doing Live songs. I like Z-Man's performance for what it is but I wouldn't confuse it with Live though, with Ed or with CS. Just as I wouldn't confuse Ed with Live, especially here. Amazing what Ed has become.

That performance by Ed was hilarious.

That entire performance looks and sounds like a bunch of drunk guys playing Rock Band.

Another York, PA band that started out a mile from where I live. I'm not sure how I missed their rise to fame, but apparently a lot of people dig them. Very talented bunch and I can see why people who enjoy metal would like this band. She's hot to boot - can't hurt.
