Just to throw a few more out there...

Weezer, Halestorm, Creed (I know, I know), Buckcherry, Fuel (Scallions is back), AiC or Cantrell, Stone Sour...

Hell, some of these would be good - www.rocklahoma.com - TGF played it last year. Line-up not quite as good this year.

The more I think about it I think Fuel would be a good fit.

I would not be into this or the other bands mentioned. Personally I'd go for something like The Black Keys, maybe The Killers, some younger bands that broke in more recent years. Live could hang with them, especially if they had new relevant material.

Add:

Kings of Leon.

I'll think of some more

Fuel without Carl Bell? I'm not sold on that just yet. He was the main songwriter for Fuel. I've always liked Scallions so I hope he can get Fuel back on track.

Surprised no one has said Radiohead. Although radio has not supported them lately, they still have a huge following and much respect from the younger and indie scenes. Love to see Live on a bill with them and maybe someone like Arcade Fire.

Oh message boards, a world where bands don't tour with each other solely based on record label contracts and other extraneous factors... lol.gif

Funky you are spot on as always, I would say the likelihood of tour or even a 3-5 day festival like this is highly unlikely. I know we are all dealing in hypothetical situations here, but to be more realistic I believe we may see a co-headlining show or tour first before we see anything like this come about. The amount of money and corporate sponsorship it takes to put together a festival is astronomical and at this point that is more than likely not a viable option. Though I would agree could be eventually profitable and exciting. Oh no I'm talking finances and money, has SJN taken over this account too lol.gif lol.gif lol.gif

Yeah. If Live wants to combat that they'll have to have a pretty successful return to radio or other compelling reasons for bigger bands to tour with them since they are on their own. Maybe they can luck out and sign someone up and coming to Questionable to tour with.

I can't help but think of TGF when I think of the challenges Live will face. Obviously they have a head start on TGF but just look what they were able to do. They recorded an incredible album, one that was worthy of major label status, got very good reception and very good support on rock radio. Yet, they didn't seem to gain much traction. At the end of their tour, their audiences were getting larger, Appetite was going strong and they seemed poised to take the next step. I half expected a decent sized label to jump on board and continue to work their release with some additional support, maybe release another song or two or even re-release the album. But nothing. Perhaps TGF was content. I don't have a clue. But it certainly seemed like they could have continued to grow things. They had a nice start. I hope if Live gets going similarly they are able to get behind it when the momentum is there, if that's what they want to do of course.

That's the plan maestro.(the latter)

I've often wondered how much of that had to do with CT breaking his leg. The option of adding more tour dates was out at that point, which really cramped their momentum. By most accounts the Europe tour was successful, but I guess Candlebox got an offer they couldn't refuse on tour dates and a new album.

Couldn't they do what I described with Candlebox, TGF, Live and perhaps an undercard of a band singed to Questionable? They would all control their own destiny.

I'd buy tickets to that show. All day.

I think Candlebox is the logical choice. Even if TGF isn't an official part of the bill they could do short sets each night. Heck have Lotus Crush open the show and the C-Box guys can pull double duty too.

It seems so simple and perfect that I'm sure something stupid and contractual is preventing it.
