That Bush succeeds because of Gavin and being on a major label?

Putting down gay people, nice.

no, this one.

It's hard for you to man up isn't it. Fish is still waiting for you to give him an honest answer.

You cannot seem to comprehend this, nor care when someone wants to get some facts from you. You seem to hide and run from any challenge.

Bush is not on a major label and Institute went nowhere with Gavin as lead.

You're right Bush isn't on a major label, my mistake. It is probably why the album didn't sell all that many copies overall. Bush has been successful touring since the "reunion".

Institute didn't do well, but Gavin did well with a solo album on a major label.

The only original members of Bush are Gavin and the drummer. Do you think if the rest of Bush released an album without Gavin that anyone would care?

For many women, Goyte has sex appeal.

I can tell you right now that Goyte (Wally!) did not get where he is on sex appeal. I lived very close to him and my girlfriend's family home and his parent's house backed onto each other. That guy played and played and played and played his freakin heart out. It actually used to drive us nuts. He was/is obsessed with his music since he was a little kid. His parents moved down to the beach when he was a teenager (left him there) and he and his band mates just rocked that house day and night. He was the nicest down to earth guy though and I hear he still is even though he has gone big time. He had a band that used to play local pubs and venues. I saw him quite a few times and really, nobody was into his 'sex appeal' - the audience were right into the music. The band sure had their followers. When he was picked up by the US crowd, it was nothing to do with women finding him sexy. It was all his music.

You got that so wrong Nick - as usual. You really don't have a clue do you.

Bush has Gavin Rossdale

Gwen's bush has Gavin, you mean.

Look, Bush had some catchy songs, I'll give them that. But all things considered they were literally nothing but a regurgitated and homogenized carbon copy of Nirvana. I mean, holy shit... they even got the same guy (Steve Albini) that produced Nirvana's second album to produce THEIR second album. But what's worse is that their 2nd album wasn't even regurgitated Nirvana... it was regurgitated BUSH. They carbon copied their first album almost down to the same track listing. Seriously, go listen to Comedown (5th song, first album) and then go listen to Cold Contagious (5th song, second album) and tell anybody with a straight face they weren't trying to mimic themselves. To top it off they tried to reproduce Glycerine not once, but twice on the 2nd album with the songs "Straight No Chaser" and "Bonedriven".

I'd take the 90's over now any day of the week, but let's not act like the 90's were perfect. They were responsible for the Macarena, for fucks sake. Bush were as derivative as any band has ever been... they were basically the Spice Girls of grunge.

(no offense to Bush fans intended)

The target demographic for people to actually by music are the younger folks.

Youth buying CDs?

Errr.... no.

I think that guys in their 30s-40s are the buyers nowadays.

very creepy that you went with the sex appeal idea in all of this. are you coming out to everyone that you believe EK is a sex symbol.

He makes a great point. That's one of the first things I thought why Bush is doing this well after getting back together. Gwen has a massive following so her popularity helped her husband Gavin ...and those other 3 guys very much. There is no denying this. She is also very loaded and I'm sure has much pull in the business.

Think of it this way:

"Bush is back"
"Who?"
"Gwen Steffani's husband has a band and he is cute" (his sex appeal comes into play here)

Oooh I love Gwen!!!

Ipods all things Bush times that by thousands

I'm not saying they are doing super awesome and shit, but I would bet anything they would be doing a lot worse without her name being attached to Gavin.

That may be true where you live Ed, but in America it's the kids with their ipods and mum 'n dads credit cards buying up everything.

Physical CDs? Sure it's the older folks, but that is kind of beside the point. smile.gif
