I consider SP a cartoon. The best of them to be exact.

BTW I do think that I have NEVER seen a better thing on TV than House MD. Not that I watch it on TV because our fucked up channels screw the translation horribly. We have a brilliant online resource called Lostfilm for some strange reason. Anyway, they do it very professionally. And for free. Thta is how dozens of millions of people get to watch this brilliance.

House MD is what really affected me much. Have you EVER seen a series that can appeal to that ammount of people? A brilliant BRITISH actor doing the main part. A lot of characters, each with their own life, problems and tragedy. Detective stories in most of the series, medicine for those who enjoy it. Scary stories, human relationships, love, hate, life, death, all rolled into one. And a PERFECT cast. I ADORE them with my fave being Dr Chase by the brilliant Jesse Spencer. Too bad there are not that many beautiful women in the movie, except for the tremendous Olivia Wilde. tongue.gif

I adored House up until this season. The cast turnover finally caught up to them with Lisa Edelstein leaving the show. I wish they had quit while they were ahead but I'll watch the finale Monday just the same.

Without this season I'd consider it one of my favorite shows of all-time. At its peak nothing could beat it.

Agreed - bracket is really incomplete and really favors dramas.

So many great comedies - 30 Rock, Daily Show, Colbert, South Park, Scrubs, The Office (prior to Carrell leaving), Modern Family, Weeds, It's Always Sunny...

Should say "Best American TV show of the last decade", there is a huge lack of shows from elsewhere, mostly England, because as we all know, The Office > American The Office (especially if you've actually worked in an office! ).

Agreed. I like both of them though, they are too different to strike a fair comparison in my opinion.

I just really dislike the American one because it just took the concept of the show and butchered it, it turned it into just another sitcom, it lost what was special about it. To me they're basically just similar in name only and otherwise have absolutely nothing to do with each other.

It's why there is a show just started now which is called Veep and stars Julia Louis Dreyfus and it is an American take on my favorite british comedy of all time "The Thick Of It" and while it is nowhere near as good, I'm enjoying it because everyone involved in The Thick Of It from a writing and creative stand point, is making Veep. They pitched an American version of The Thick Of It to the creator Armando Iannucci a couple of years ago and he absolutely hated it and refused to give it a green light, so I love that he's decided to personally take charge of an American version to make it sure it's done the right way.

Just started watching Veep. Julia Louis Dreyfus really does a great job.

That's a good name.
Then the people also understand that Ed is no longer a part of Live.

24 is there, great show, but to me, nothing beats NCIS and EUREKA,....and I hated the fact that they stopped Sleeper Cell....
