here's my WTF story:

when my son was 2, him, my wife & I were driving down the road, no radio. all of a sudden my 2 year old son starts singing, "heeeeyyyy, we won't be raped, hey yea" needless to say, my better half immediately gives me a WTF look and bans TC from being played in their presence.

now he is 12, and he is not into live unfortunately. i am ashamed to say he is into green day , but there is some hope, he also likes some bands like nickelback. i am slowly working on it. my wife did not so much object to him singing live, as not wanting him running around preschool singing "we won't be raped" lol. now, his little sister could sing most of the lyrics to collective soul's dosage when she was 3, so i there is hope!

also, i am teaching my boy guitar, so that explains green day to an extent, they are so easy to play. once his skills improve, i am sure he will get over them! peer pressure...sheesh!

Still, it's not such a bad message to be spread by kids these days! But I can understand that preschool might not be the best place to do that!

i'm with sandkind on the early indoctrination~sp? of fine, quality music.

my oldest sings Head Like a Hole while my youngest has been known to walk around singing, Did ya give it up? did ya give it up?

oh and last nite, I walk by mini mollie #2 and she has my gracey stick banging on her bed singing some lyrics of some mysteriuos song....and she is getting an electric guitar for her birthday...any one have any rec's on good ones to start with?

LOL That's hysterical! I used to babysit for a 3-year old and I would quiz him all the time.

Me: "Who plays drums?"
The kid: "Chad Gracey."
Me: "Who sings?"
The kid: Ed Kowalsiblsishjrkngdsaff (come on - he was 3 - it was cute)
Me: "What does Chad Taylor do?"
The kid: "He plays guitar."
Me: "What else?"
The kid: "He sings sometimes."
Me: "What does Patrick do?"
The kid: "He plays bass."
Me: "Who's missing?"
The kid: "Ed's baby brother. ADAM!!!"

Once he had that down, I did the same thing with Led Zep & The Who. It freaked out his parents when he would randomly talk about Keith Moon at dinner.

And I also taught my friend's parrot the Waitress-whistles.

Btw, can't you send the parrot on tour with them? Last time here in Belgium, Ed refused to do the wistle; he just lalala-ed that part...lame!

i personally don't think you can beat a fender bullet for about $100. that's what i got my son. i was scared to let him play my stratocaster or les paul, but i swear the playability (called the action) of his bullet is as good as my strat for a fraction of the cost. sounds decent, too. course you will also need to invest in a small amp, but you should be able to pick up a 10watt fairly cheap. good luck!

^^^thanks~i will see what i can do about it. she is so ready for it, even as young as she is. she wakes up at 6:00 am~dammit and is in her room with her acoustic singing and writing lyrics on paper, which is all over the floor by the end of the day.
