OTD gets high rep because he gives us the smallest insight into things he is privy to by knowing the guys. People just seem to like what I post for god knows whatever reason, my rep just comes from all sorts of people, even a few people I've never seen post before!

I didn't see this yesterday...
I was only kidding about the rep, just yanking yous two chains.
I can be a silly dumbass sometimes...but I'm sure I didn't have to tell you that.

Following on where we became off topic on the other thread - Opinechik and the 'bennies'!! So if your boss is from Canada....he must be loving owning a business in the US? No responsibilities to employees? Well, I hope the healthcare bit comes back to bite him on the bum and Canada don't want him back across the border when he needs his national healthcare!

I had to look up where Maine was on the map blush.gif This is where the Nearings had their farm!! A Canadian friend sent me one of their books years and years ago.

And how many Portlands are their in the US?! Are you near the ocean? What do you do thru those cold, snowy months of winter?

He actually owns four shops now, which makes it even worse that he still doesn't provide any type of benefits.

I had to look up the Nearings, lol...they sound like fascinating people.

So of course I was curious and had to google the Portland question.
Thereare12:Oregon,Maine,Texas,Tennessee,Indiana,Connecticut,NewYork,Michigan,Wis
consin,Pennsylvania,North Dakota,Arkansas.

I live inland now, about an hour from the ocean. Portland and South Portland where I lived for quite awhile, are right on the ocean.
I'm in what is called the lakes region. It's a beautiful area, mountains and lakes everywhere.
My avatar is a pic of the lake located a five minute walk from my home. I truly feel blessed to be able live in such an area.

The winters are admittedly long, but there are still things to do here. Snowmobiling, skiing, ice fishing, ice skating. If you're dressed for it, the cold doesn't bother you.

Awww just look at that face! What a cutie Eddie is.

Thank you, he is a cutie... too much energy sometimes, but adorable.

QUOTE(jayda @ May 5 2012, 8:30 am) *

eyebrow.gif really DQ? no connection to our 'Eddie' laugh.gif

He's a honey smile.gif He looks like he's a very active dog...he has that look in his eye!

Jayda, he was a friend of a friend of a friend's and he was going to the pound and he was free and healthy, so I said I'd take him sight unseen, not really even knowing what kind he was. I just knew he was a boy.
So in my mind I was going to name him Dan (no relation) or some other manly name, and when I picked him up, he wouldn't stop whining. Just non stop. for probably the first three days I had him he just whined (he is still quite verbal).
So, I thought "nope, he's not manly enough to be called Dan. I need a whiney name." Eddie was a rich kid I grew up with, who is still a rich, whiney, spoiled adult who just doesn't shut up. So I named him Eddie.
The first thing my mom said to me was "did you name him after that Live singer????"
nope. I had forgotten about Ed Ko until that moment. It made me laugh.

he turned 2 Nov 30th, so I guess 2 1/2
he has a larger vocabulary as he's aged... he doesn't just whine, he talks now... he's got lots of noises. (he doesn't actually SPEAK - I'm not insane) but he has a much larger vocabulary than any dog I've ever had.

Oh, I thought maybe his activity level was related to age. Aussie's are active dogs by nature, they like to keep busy, lol.
My dog is also very verbal...my husband and I are always commenting on just how much he talks compared to other dogs we have had. It's really something to see, isn't it...you just know he's working hard trying say something.
It's weird though, I didn't really see that as a characteristic of aussie's when I was kinda researching them once I knew that Doc would be coming to live with us. :dunno

does your dog make weird wookie type noises (you know, Chewbacca, from star wars... never actually spoke english, just make weird throaty noises)? that's Eddie's favorite thing to do. He'll bark and growl and whine, but more often, he'll just walk up to me with a toy in his mouth and make a serious of throaty weird noises I've never heard a dog make before. he's got his own language.
and when I'm petting him, when I hit that spot on his side (you know the one that makes the dog's back leg go, I guess because it tickles) he makes this whole other noise that I can't even describe.

he's cute, though. so I'll keep him.

Throaty, Chewbacca type noises is a good way to describe it. Almost like a grunt but different.
Doc didn't start doing it until about a year after we got him, which I find interesting.
Now, he "talks" a lot....when I get home from work, he likes a quick hug. The whole time he'll be making noises. It isn't happy whining or anything like that...it's a guttural, throat noise.
He goes nuts for popcorn (something started long before we took him in) he sits there and will make another impatient type of noise if he feels he isn't being thrown enough, quickly enough.
I've never heard a dog make so many different noises either..and I've been around many breeds over the years.

My new dog makes funny noises but I don't think it's talking.

That's so cute that your dogs' 'talk' lol.gif You both need to post an audio clip!

Now Iron, he snores, farts and burps (like a human) - typical bloody male!

And I'm putting this here because I don't want the boys to pay out on me but tonight I had a moment about Ed. You know when you go thru a break up and about a year later everything is going fine, you're over it (so you think), moving on etc....well, tonight I was driving home from the airport and Selling The Drama came on the radio. And it hit me like a ton of bricks. Chris Shinn won't do. Ed Kowalczyk should be there acting normal, not like some stupid wanna be Christian pop star signing fucking shit. God Fucking Damn You Ed Kowalczyk. Why are you such a sellout????

I'm sure I'll be back on the road to recovery tomorrow and that Chris Shinn will do just fine and Ed can go back to happily singing Christian crap.

Now ain't that the truth....Thursday night I think I got maybe two hours sleep between hubby's and Doc's snoring. My husband uses ear plugs at work but do you think I could find any....

Did venting help, laugh.gif sometimes it does.

Oh, and Happy Mother's Day!
