Like Bill Clinton when he said he "did not have sexual relations with that woman" - he believed it.

It's absolutely true that if you say something long enough, you eventually believe it, even if you originally knew it to be false.

I wonder if he 1. really wants to believe he's moved on to something musically *better*
2. is in steep denial that CCP can survive without him
3. truly believes that his Alive "rocks" in a la TC and is him returning to his rock roots


It's like all of the things he says in interviews (a new page, a new direction, moving on, moving forward - I'm not quoting exactly, but you know what I mean) are a giant defense mechanism to protect him from the fact that his new music, while decent Christian rock, is NOT ROCK (it's called Contemporary Christian Music instead of Christian Rock for a reason), and the fact that his voice is not what it was, and that his writing is not what it was...

(I will not pretend that I've aged perfectly, I tried to climb a tree the other day and almost needed an ambulance to deal with my embarrassment)

All of this is me desperately wanting to believe he's not a sleezy jerk.
I want to blame his management for being sleezy and I want to say he's just insane right now.

oh well.

anyone who goes to the show, I'd love to hear/see The Garden and/or I'm the Proof... I really want to be surprised.
