You sure get you snappy when your idol is bagged on (constantly).

Haha he does doesn't he!

I wouldn't exactly call Ed big here. Live just happened to be one of the bands that Triple M picked up and they're one of those radio stations that just plays the same stuff over and over for years on end. So as long as they just keep Live in rotation then the masses that listen to that shitty radio station will go to the gigs. Without Triple M Ed would be dead here. It's not like he's a loved figure here or anything.

Just to put it all in perspective yet again.....Live wasn't about or is Ed.....It's the dynamic of the 4 that gave us that music.....IT will be again

In Nick's defense, it was kind of a witty comment. whiney cry baby, but witty.
made me say "touche"

in defense of accuracy, it's fairly easy to sell out small venues WHEN YOU USE THE NAME OF A BAND THAT WAS POPULAR (that you're no longer a part of - but that's a minor detail) TO ATTRACT A CROWD

That statement doesn't even make sense. If LIVE was the dynamic of the 4, it may NEVER be again is more accurate.

When does your tour of little venues start?

I've never claimed to be a musician or artist that tours? Why would I be touring? I also don't think he was sold out here. There were plenty of people buying tickets at the door. It certainly didn't feel like it was sold out...I believe The Forum holds 1500 and there was plenty of room for more.

Ed's venues that have been larger have lots of giveaway tickets by local radio stations.

One of the last Live concerts I went to had a ton of free tickets given away to help fill the venue. When I saw this I cringed. I think the same is happening for Ed. There is absolutely no way Ed is actually filling out venues without the help of freebies.

You do know that "sold out" isn't an indication of the place being full? It's saying that all the tickets that were made available have been sold. Whether that be 5 tickets or 500. Jayda is right to forum roughly fits 1500 (although I've heard 1700 from some). A friend of mine that went said there was heaps of room to move and easily get to the bar compared to other gigs we have seen there. I've been to gigs with her there where you are just packed in like sardines. Different allotments of tickets are made available at different times for different artists even at the same venue. Ed may have sold out and another artist may not have, yet the second artist could have a larger audience.

Point is without Triple M, Ed would be nothing here. Don't fool yourself into thinking we are a nation that adores him. There's nothing to be proud of that because mindless drones are following the radio's instructions is an indication of real fandom.

Pokey to the rescue...I was about to apologise to Nick lol.gif Yep, there was plenty of room there that night. And you are right about Triple M Pokey. I had close associations with Fox FM in the 90's and I can't ever remember LIVE being played on there. Thus, I had no idea who LIVE were that whole time.
