U come dangerously close to doing the same but have greater fansoflive numbers on your side

That's rediculous. mdvb spewed true, visceral hatred. I've seen nothing like that directed towards Ed on this board. I believe the vast majority don't hate Ed, they're just disappointed. I'm certain no one wishes ill will towards Ed either. I haven't read every post on this board but I'd certainly speak up if I saw someone blast Ed like mdvb blasted Chad.

My jesting is simply due to being very dissapointed. As someone who is older than Ed, I would think he'd grow up a little but..........it remains to be seen.

I don't think I've posted since the first big show, but I've been following like crazy. Still digesting everything I guess. Certainly strange to have another singer around, but Shinn does a fantastic job with these songs for the most part. I am thrilled that they pulled out TDAOC because that is easily one of my favorite Live songs of all time --- what a passionate, intense, yet beautiful song! As far as the re-recordings on the F4L, Shinn brings back that raw quality in Ed's early Live material that drew me to the band (along with the simple, raw music itself of course). He does extremely well with AOY, STD, and I was really particularly impressed with I Alone! Wow, that song has fucking intensity again!! I found myself doing some serious, god damn air drums again, lol. I think LC is decent too, but (and I'm curious to see if anyone agrees with me) I feel that out of the 4 songs up there so far, LC needs the most work.

All in all, though, I'm so damn excited again for these guys. The reason we are so passionate and upset with Ed is because all the true fans know well what this band could do in its hey-day. The songs brought you to another place; they truly transcended all the good and bad things in life. There was always a Live song that was right for whatever moment I found myself in. And finally, even though its not the original 4, we have CCP (+C) playing once again with the passion that made us fall so hard for this band. God bless 'em, even though I'm excited to hear the old songs in concert, I am actually more excited for the new music! rockin.gif

It's freaky that many of us share these experiences and it's those core aspects that attract us to LIVE.

I feel disappointed too but you make comments and get annoyed at others who make comments you don't agree with. Totally hypocritical.

I think you need to read this board more carefully...

An I'm not MVDV or whatever his names is, even though I do agree with much of his point.

Interestingly mvdb used to run a quite successful LIVE website back in the days (going through various incarnations, landing on mvdblive.org). I remember him as a dedicated follower of the band who became very critical against CT a long time ago. Sadly I don't recall what set him off.

I know what set it off... one of Chad's stomps shook the stage and knocked over MVDB's beer on the front row. Ever since then he has been in a rage and opposed to anything he is associated with.

Now that the site is up nothing has been done to fix any of the issues.

It's official, the Freaks4Live forum sucks.

I haven't even looked at it. With this forum here it is kind of a waste of time. The Live website should focus on new media things like social sharing, not forums.

i dont knlw where i am in the forum but thi s is an example of Live at around 2000 where, even with the keyboards and some falsetto, they still produced the awesome goods mainly because of ed's tone/attitude/passion was intact, so much intensity...jst listen to the intro imagine him introduing the song like this today ohmy.gif

Dan, is it possible you can put this under Wam's avatar or something, because it's so perfect in summing the great man up!
