FYI - here is a link to another thread containing review of the show.
Ed Kowalczyk - I Alone Acoustic Tour, No more, no less...

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fCL0REPHFKA - Pain Lies on the Riverside (extended drum intro)
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eBu-H8haUlk - Lightning Crashes (version 1)
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CjKTYqzFork - Lightning Crashes (version 2)
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=K7iNhrH21II - Selling the Drama
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ndcGufRXgkc - I Alone
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2iZyAXJpNN4 - The Dolphin's Cry

In Lightning Crashes, Ed improvs a bit.

"Celebrate your love tonight, Lord
and all the good, good things you give to me. Hey hey, yeah."

Me too.

We did so because when we see those words in 1 line, we think we are supposed to hear drumming after the click, right?

That "beat" is just ... man seriously, I WANT Ed to surround himself with some great musicians. At the festival I was at recently, I saw bands where there was obviously one big "star" of the band, but they surrounded themselves with absolute world class session musicians, like seriously, seriously talented people. Not just people who could "do the job".

Well, basically the complete opposite of that. But nice try. You're a terrible judge of music though, so I wouldn't expect any less smile.gif

Good musicians with a very average vocalist.

Great musicians with a very good vocalist, one that can control his voice and knows his limits as opposed to one who thinks he's a lot better than he actually is. One that strays so far from what made him great. Yeah no thanks, keep your American Idol crap away from this great ROCK band.

Its funny, you have one of the most opposite tastes in music to me I've met, one of the most opposite philosophies on music of people I've met, and the only band that ties us together, we can't even like for the same reason. You like them for one man and because you want a band that you can champion as "your band" who's commercial success you can track and be proud of. I can't think of a worse reason to like a band.

You have no idea what you're talking about son. Have you ever been in a room to hear him sing? Nope, One Zillion Dollars on the line.......make the bet. But, you asked not to partake in new Live, you declared 'Count Me Out'.....hanging around as a fence sitter will only lead you to more ridicule, scorn and embarrasement. Pick you poison.

That's exactly what Live became from 2000 and onward till they finally broke up.

Just watch video of Kevin Martin and Chris Shinn performing at the same show and you can see a major difference between the two performers. Martin commands the stage and audience, while Shinn is barely audible at times and unsure of himself most other instances.

If CCP were serious about reforming LIVE, they probably should have auditioned and found a dynamic new vocalist to take LIVE in a different direction. What they found was a guy who is trying hard to sound like Ed circa 1995 and not doing a great job of it.
