I just received an email from the local rock station's program manager that states the venue gave them the info for EK's billing for their heavily rotated commercials for the upcoming show. He assured me that it was nothing on the radio stations part and that he would be contacting the venue today about the matter. Got the ball rolling looks like another false billing is about to bite the dust smile.gif

This all just proves that Ed will do anything/say anything to make a buck.

He doesn't care if his name is associated with his former band nor does he care if his management or the promoters use it.

This is all just showing Ed for who he really is. Greedy, selfish and a liar. The perfect Evangelist???

I'm not usually running to defend Ed (its shameful to me he's calling his tour I Alone) but I'm willing to bet its not on Ed's end that he's being billed as 'of Live.' I have a friend who does PR for a venue in Baltimore and he said they often get no info from artists and have to make stuff up themselves to do billing. its not on CNN or anything that Ed's not a part of Live anymore. I wouldn't be surprised if venues just don't know.
on the other hand, Ed's management could certainly give a proper heads up...

Yeah I definitely don't think it's Ed doing it. But that doesn't absolve him of guilt by association! I bet he knows of it by now and I'm sure is happy to not lift a finger to do the right and honest thing, as a good Christian man should! I'm sure he thinks he'll ride it as long as he can.

Dancing Queen I've done Public Relations myself for many years and have worked in radio, TV, and print journalism so I understand the nature of putting together advertising for an event. I am sure the venue themselves did not consult anyone, especially if they have not heard from the proper management circles. Yet, never the less I am sure that EK's management has not made a point of this as it seems to be a trend now and not just a mistake when it comes to his billing for shows. Being I live so close to the venue, I just thought it was my duty to inform the media of what is going on.

There is no difference for fans between by calling the show Ed Kowalczyk of LIVE or Ed Kowalczyk former lead singer of LIVE. As long as the association with LIVE is there, its all good.

Billing yourself as part of a band that you are no longer a member of is a ethically wrong on top of have legal ramifications. Yes, we all know that he had an association with LIVE, but the key word is HAD, as in the past.

you're absolutely right. at this point, management should be saying "by the way..." but I have a feeling his managers are not interested in anything but filling venues.

Helps Live too because we don't have to share gigs with people who want to see the Backstreet Boys version of Live!
