I love that "often gets drowned out by CCP", this is all based on some very roughly mixed demo tracks and a couple of poor (sorry to the people who did their best to record the shows, we all appreciate you getting us something in not ideal situations to have time to professionally set up!) videos, he "often" after 2 performances and a demo session. Glad someone can make huge overbearing statements based on next to nothing. Shinn has no stage presence? Nick, I'm going to believe the people who were ACTUALLY AT THE GIGS what they thought of his stage presence compared to a guy who had already made up his mind that he didn't like him. There's some real unbias judgement right there! Guys like Funky, Fish and DQ were there who call shit straight down the line, they're no bullshit, if something is amiss, they'll call it out - all glowing reviews of Shinn's performances, sorry dude but you have absolutely no idea what the fuck you're talking about when it comes to Chis Shinn.

Didn't you comment about Ramy Antoun from youtube videos? I can tell from a youtube if Shinn is a weak performer and if he is forgetting lyrics. His voice is not dynamic, and lacks a strong vocal range. He brings NOTHING new to the music, and is basically trying to do covers of the CD versions of classic LIVE songs(and not doing a great job of it).

Ed forgets the lyrics to his own damn songs, and there is plenty of proof out there. He also has a terrible vocal range now, and insists on drowning everyone out with his shitty falsetto.

See we can go back and forth on this all day. The little ammunition you have pales in comparison to the stockpiles of ammunition that multiple people here have against Ed.

I know it will be a big step outside of your comfort zone but please listen to Unified Theory. Shinn has no dynamics and lacks a strong vocal range?? It's obvious you should not be posting on any music related forums with your sense for music. I know musical taste varies and I respect that, but open your mind and your ears for shit sake!

And we have how many clips of Ramy doing his one handed tap tap tapping? How many professional recordings? How many first hand witnesses that have seen him? And how many of Shinn? Dude, Ed's voice is not dynamic anymore, he brings NOTHING to the music, he is doing a 10 times better job than Ed is. He's singing the songs like rock songs, not pop, that is what counts. You're gonna ride this "forgetting the lyrics" thing into the ground, non issue in a rehearsal gig. Everyone fucks up, he showed that he cared when he fucked up as opposed to Ed. Ed forgets words too, you have so much judgement for such a small sample size of recording. I know you don't like TGF, but this is pure fact - when they started touring you could hear they were still getting their bearings, they were finding their feet with the songs and each other, as the tour went on the songs grew, songs were extended and jam sessions started turning up in them as more confidence was found. Why would this be any different for Live and Shinn? You have so much judgement and so much hate for ONE rehearsal show at only 10 songs in length and ONE secret show, that's it, these things take time, you obviously have no fucking idea what it's like playing in a band and being creative.
Shinn's voice is limited in its way granted, but he doesn't push it beyond its limit, he knows where it can and can't go, he doesn't go trying to go way too high and remember all the comments about people being impressed at how low down he got? His voice is at least fluent. Ed doesn't sing within in his range anymore. He has quite a limited range in his own way, he CAN hit certain notes, but not often but god he's gonna keep trying anyways. Its like when he tries to go for high notes, completely and utterly misses them, and then you hear a bunch of girls squealing in the audience - that is exactly what you are. They don't give a shit that he couldn't hit it, they just cheer because he went for it and that's what they're "meant" to do, that's shit. That's not appreciating music. You're applauding a guy who's voice just cracked. And yet you can HEAR that shit in recordings. It's this weird mentality of Ed = good, and he can't do a damn thing wrong. His next tour is going to be him standing on stage farting into a jar and you'll think its brilliant.

Ed has a character in his voice which is purely him, it couldn't be anyone else, Shinn doesn't exactly have that no, but they are different people.

In the end, you don't like it, we get it, so why keep on hanging on every move they make?

Honestly, it's like arguing with a child. What is it like only being able to view music as a record exec would rather than how a fan does?

It is like arguing with a child, a child who fancies himself a record exec but learned everything he knows from watching American Idol. The thing is, if you apply those same standards to EK he is a huge failure as well. In the end, talent is such a subjective thing to analyze. Talent alone though is never enough and desire is sometimes a more important component to one's success as an artist.

It just seems these days that Ed's happy place or whatever state of contentment he is in is really affecting his desire to go to the places he once did with his "talent". Chris, on the other hand, clearly has all the desire in the world and plenty of talent. We see that with his inspired performances with three other guys that possess equal amounts of talent and desire as well. It's refreshing to see the four of them feed off each other and reach points greater than what they would if they isolated themselves like EK is doing. Glad he's happy but as long as he thinks he's the proof it will only be proof of one thing, he's clearly not capable of creating on his own as he did when he was surrounded by people that pushed him the way CCP did.

I tried to explain things for a while and get some sort of point/counterpoint going but it fell on deaf ears. And I observed the same happening to well reasoned and presented posts like yours and others.

Nick decides to pick and choose parts of a post or ignore the posts completely. The most annoying part is when we address something he has said he doesn't counter. Instead he doesn't respond or switches the subject entirely or repeats the same thing a day later.

Like I said, there is no longer any point in trying to communicate with him. He talks in circles and doesn't apply the same logic where applicable. After all this time I think we have realized that it is futile to try to engage him in any form or fashion.

I recommend that, from here on, if you do want to respond to him there is a 99.9% chance that the would suffice.
