Absolutely. It would allow them to use the name and songs while distinguishing them from the original band and Ed.

You wish! LIVE is a spirit, a family, a brotherhood. LIVE constitutes members that exemplify these traits-none of which you or Ed exhibit. You'd love to tag the band with another label, Mr Labelmaker. Not gonna happen.

Nah, they are just going to take the LIVE name down with them. Cover singer replacements rarely fair well in the long term.

"Cover singer" you need some new labels, homeboy. Besides, Ed already took the LIVE name down. We're going to rebuild.

Lol Ed already took it down as far as it could go. They aren't going to capture the old commercial success again but they'll restore some musical creative credibility to the name again that disappeared when it turned into "ooo baby let my lovin ease your pain".

What I saw at the Strand in March was Live.

What I saw at the Live shows from 2000-2004 was not Live.

It's as simple as that.

Do you guys think that since it isn't the original lineup Live they should add something different or afterwards to the name?

Kind of like how the 2 members of CCR moved on became Creedence Clearwater Revisited?

Just a thought.

pfft

Got that right, sir. LIVE will definitely want the help of it's supporting fan base. When that new album drops and the new tour commences, I plan on dropping large dollars to support them as will the vast majority on this board. Who knows Nick, I may even buy you the new CD as well so you can hear what real music sounds like.

I offered to send him the TGF record to do the same thing Indy....he wasn't interested. No open mind, ostrich with head inserted clearly up his rectum.

Eh, at least we offered. My offer will always stand if he legitimately wants to take an objective, un-biased listen. I don't expect him to like what will be presented. He's stated before that he prefers the recent LIVE material over the older material. That's cool with me, i don't begrudge him of that. However, his continued heated rhetoric and overall vitriol for the rest of us, TGF and particularly CCP is troubling, though. What bugs me the most is his constant haranging of CS, who by all accounts, is innocent in all this. He seems to be a young, warm, passionate, talented singer who's just following his dream to play with guys he's always admired. It's sick, no it's psychotic, to incessantly redicule the guy. I will continue to defend and support CS against whatever Nick has to throw at him. So childish.

SJN (insert adjective here) seems to enjoy launching offensives at people who are in no way shape or form part of the Live dynamic of 2009 and before.....sounds to me that he gets sick pleasuring of himself to these constant insults. CS has had small success and not all talented people are found and given a chance. Most bands today that have huge commercial success is because it's manufactured to be so...its not organic or true.

I would like to see what Ed comes out with. As Fish, Pokey, Aitkens have said....don't wait. It's not coming. I agree, he's never going to be one with success again because he chose the easy ego path over what worked for him and boys for so long. No sweat off my back.....CS fits the Live dynamic and with some time to gel, it will give many of us plenty of enjoyment as it has already.

Shocked hoodie.....uber fail on the response.

Just floating out thoughts for conversation. Until this band is touring or has some type of release I have no idea what I'm getting or what I'll like. I will say it seems promising.

Some bands, like CCR have gone that route when the lead singer went egotistical. Just pointing that out. Others, for example, Van Halen, have not.

In the end it's all about the music. Really, "What's in a name?"

Let's set the record straight for everyone. Chris is not a cover singer, he is the NEW singer.

If you want a cover singer go listen to Z! thumbsup.gif
