I was thinking along the same lines. It's like he said "Alive" was still to much of a hard core rock album so he chopped the balls off of it this time around.

My stream of conscience thoughts:

"Ooh, I like the piano, nice touch"

"Sometimes people change?" ~ That's right they do... you'd know... wait, is he suggesting that he is going to make some kind of change in his song content??

"And I'm the proof?? Oh god he is proud of what he's become, he has gone off the deep end

"Did the song really just say 'you say you don't believe in god?'" ~ SFBM hid the christian overtones well, Alive tried to be ambiguous but failed, now he has given up and is fully accepting the christian label.

I wish the best for Ed but hope someday he quits this charade. Once he figures out that god won't bless his pocketbook singing about him I think he will return to standard music. I'd love it if he made an album about betraying your friends and the utter despair that he feels inside while trying to mask it with a happy face and a god that isn't there.

This just sucks. You can find Jesus and still make great music. John Davis of Superdrag did it. I'm not religious but I love John's stuff, it rocks. This EK stuff is just plain bad pop crap, Christian or not.

I have listened to it..i'm really dissapointed.
This is the first time i really dislike a song sung by Ed.
But it's just a sample..maybe the whole song is better...


I like everything Ed has done. From Mental Jewelry till Alive. I hope the Ep won't dissapoint me.

Ed no longer has confidence in his own voice, and the way he sings now is so forced. I am so happy we have Shinn to sing for Live and not Ed, he couldn't handle the role anymore. Shove off Ed....i am officially done hoping for old Ed...happy trails ...thanks for 3 great albums though!

Musicians draw inspiration from sources when they make their art. I'm saying that the whole god thing is getting old and he won't make money from it OR sell albums.

People on both sides would enjoy an Ed Kowalczyk who was a little bit bad. If he owned the facts and sang about despair, greed, and other emotions/feelings he has been fighting off I think he could redeem himself in the live community without alienating his current fans. He doesn't have to admit any wrong, he just has to bare it all instead of hiding it. Let the Lead Singer syndrome out and show how he was in the right for all his decisions instead of hiding behind his petty god like a coward. Sing it from the heart even if your heart is as black as coal.

I believe that Ed is creating music that truly really believes in. He seems to have moved on from the other members of LIVE and is in a much better place.

i enjoy alive on a certain level, just like i can enjoy a movie like Battleship which is total garbage, but you know that going in and leave your expectations at the door. I think this new material fits into that category, seeing as how pop is catchy and can kinda put you in a light mood. still garbage though.
