I just listened to the new versions of AOY and now Lightning Crashes - I don't know how many are available, but I didn't see anyone on the board talking about it yet - which I find shocking.

AOY sounded pretty tight. I'm liking what I'm hearing. It's like talking to an old friend who you haven't seen in years, and they're older now but you connect with them in a newer, better way.

I wasn't sure where to post this... I don't know if it deserved it's own thread... probably not....

Who remebers mvdb? He used to run http://www.mvdb.org - a very popular website in its day and was a frequent poster on the illout.com forum. A person whose user name is mvdb posted the following on the Freaks4Live forum. I don't know if it's the real mvdb or somebody who thought it would be funny to use his name but whoever it was didn't hold back. Here's what was written:

Congratulations on becoming a mediocre Live cover band!!

What a sad idea to re-record Throwing Copper-era tracks. They sound terrible and empty. They make clear how important Ed's voice and emotions are to Live, and without him, all that remain are bunch of mediocre musicians. It is incredibly cheap to recycle old tracks like this. It is cheap and opportunistic to continue under the name and logo of Live. Ed Kowalczyk was the driving force behind Live. You blame Ed for a million things but most of all you blame him for your personal problems. You project your problems on the outside world, rather than looking into yourself, your own mistakes and weaknesses. Ed is an incredibly good guy, and you try to make him look like the villain just to blind yourself from your own shitty attitudes. You are in denial of yourself, and I'm talking to you Chad Taylor. Your actions are miserable.

I wish you everything that you deserve for making such bad decisions. I guess you ran out of money, or are frustrated by the lack of succes of your band without the Live brand.

I wish there was a way to stop you guys from defaming the Live name and legacy. I cannot believe the utter lack of respect. Considering the mediocrity of your performances, it should burn out soon and without too much damage.

Not many people take the time to write down how lame you really are right now, but I hope you know it's what the majority of old Live fand think. You. Are. Incredibly. Lame.
