I just listened to the new versions of AOY and now Lightning Crashes - I don't know how many are available, but I didn't see anyone on the board talking about it yet - which I find shocking.

AOY sounded pretty tight. I'm liking what I'm hearing. It's like talking to an old friend who you haven't seen in years, and they're older now but you connect with them in a newer, better way.

Haha, sorry...you're right, Ed! Will stop to cryout about a Paradiso DVD.
I just want another paradiso DVD, i think it's never going to happen, but a new Live dvd would be great.

Hate to bust your bubble but just being honest - the Paradiso DVD sucked. If they do it again I hope there is absolutely no connection to the first DVD.

In regards to the site - glad to see it's finally up. I have to say as someone who's listened to the 4 current songs that are up (I Alone, AOU, STD, and LC) for decades more times than I could ever count it definitely sounds different. To me the difference is really noticeable but refreshing.

I don't miss Ed's direction and vision for the band, his increasingly constant use of his high pitch falsetto, the light christian rock sound and direction, or the rest of the band in the background vibe.

Sometimes we love things the way they were but over time they simply need a change. I really think this was the case. It sounds like there is a love and passion for the music again in Live.

Not mentioning the quality of the performance, the seizure inducing editing was fucking horrible. The stupid ass camera angle changes every damn second got tiresome (literally on the eyes) after a few minutes.

Wow I've been eagerly awaiting the release of these! I really liked the damn at otter creek when i heard it on the wkend....really great rendition got me really excited sang the high notes well.

When I saw lightning crashes available (the live song that moved me the most) I couldn't wait to listen. But I have to say i'm a bit disappointed....is this studio recording or really good quality bootleg? He sounded a quite squeaky with the first big note (the angel closes her eyes 2nd verse), nailed the big note in the 4th verse (the angel opens her eyes) but then sounded constipated with i can feel it in the 5th.

If this was a simple bootleg recording then its probably not a big deal but I don't think that is good enough for a professional recording. Not yet anyways - I know its a new song for Chris so i know he will get better but for now it needs a bit more work. Plus i'm comparing it to ed at his best so its always going to be a tough challenge.

Haven't heard the rest yet will give them a spin later!
