+LIVE+ return to York, PA for a sold-out private performance

March 6, 2012 (York, PA) – Think Loud Development, in association with Kinsley Construction & Mayor Kim Bracey present a private, invitation only event at the Strand Capital Theater on Monday, March 12. The evening will feature multi-platinum recording artists, +LIVE+ and Candlebox with fellow Pennsylvania natives Dana Alexander and Adam Taylor & The Rain Dogs in support.

“We’ve been busy writing new songs and rehearsing old material for a series of unannounced shows and a new album. York seemed like the perfect place to have our dress rehearsal”, muses bassist Patrick Dahlheimer.

“The guest list includes our local friends and family, and those who supported us throughout the ups and downs of our career. I’m excited to perform these songs in front of our hometown fans,” adds drummer Chad Gracey.

Formed in 1985 by drummer Chad Gracey, guitarist Chad Taylor and bassist Patrick Dahlheimer, +LIVE+ became one of the most influential and commercially successful rock bands of the 90’s, having sold 20 million albums worldwide while playing to millions of fans the world over. They have scored multi-platinum albums, including 1991's Mental Jewelry, 1994’s Throwing Copper, 1997’s Secret Samadhi and 1999’s Distance To Here. In 1996, +LIVE+ were featured on the cover of Rolling Stone magazine and heralded as “Artist of the Year”.

In 2008, +LIVE+ declared a hiatus sighting differences with vocalist Ed Kowalczyk. Gracey, Dahlheimer and Taylor formed The Gracious Few recording with Candlebox members, guitarist Sean Hennesy and vocalist Kevin Martin. The group toured throughout North America and Europe landing a top-ten single with their hit “Appetite” at rock radio.

On Monday night, a new vocalist will take over the reigns once held by Kowlaczyk.

“Life has a way of evolving into new and exciting chapters. This chapter begins with a new singer. What’s most important to us is that we return the band to top form while having fun playing music for our fans. +LIVE+ is a reflection of our human experience, and true to form there certainly have been some painful moments, yet nothing can overshadow the joy of bringing our fans together,” says Taylor.

The band members are quick to point out that they wish Kowalczyk well in his pursuit of a Contemporary Christian solo career and have not ruled out a reunion at some point in the future.

Nick, man let it go. I like Ed's new stuff... I still love his voice. I'm excited that someday I'll want to see him solo (though the I Alone tour name is irritating beyond imagination - it's almost like he wants to piss people off). But he's not perfect. No one is. And no one claims that anyone is - except you!

All that matters is that, come Monday, Live is back - like it or not - in its new form. If you don't like it - cool beans. Move on. But what the hell, man? There have been times I've wanted to stick up for you because you can take a beating, but dude, you bring this on yourself. This whole thread, sans YOU, is full of joy and celebration.

I am SOOOO excited that my favorite band is making music again. yeah, maybe my first reaction was "whoa... not without Ed..." but you know what? I'm not the smartest person on earth, and I don't know everything (unlike you) so sometimes, my initial reaction is WRONG. And since I've realized that, unlike a toddler, I can't just throw a tantrum to try to get what I want... these grown men are moving in the direction they want their lives to go. No matter what I want. And after reading and seeing and HEARING some of what they're working on as Live, I'm PUMPED!!! I've accepted that this is what's REAL. And I'm excited for it. And who knows, maybe I'll hear it and think "ew" but I doubt it. Because I love PD on bass. And I really enjoy CG without the cage. I and DO LOVE the stomp!!! So the voice - well, I'll either love or it not. We'll see. But I sure as shit will not wish these guys ill.

Ed is doing his own thing. Happy Ed. Enjoy your life. CCP & ? are doing THEIR thing. They are allowed to call it LIVE and that's what they've done and I'm totally geared up for it.

Holy shit. I realized I just wasted all of this typing. Well, I hope someone else enjoyed my little diatribe. Heaven knows Nick doesn't recognize reason when he sees it.

It's really simple when you break it down - there is one chance for his man to make money money and get more fame and notoriety, and that's joining back up with Live, and Live reforming without him is hurting those chances, so Nick is extremely bitter about that and is going to do whatever he can to upset the apple cart. It is absolutely childish.

He really needs to just move the fuck on and stop acting like a crazy bitter ex-wife who won't stop harassing the ex-partner and his new family. If he can't move on, then just ban him and force him to move on.

I really hope that some kind of recording, even if its just a song or two come out of this show on Monday, although who knows what their plan is. They may want to hold off on what the new singer will sound like with the band until the actual album is out and this might come out after that.
