SFBM was an indie release and sold twice as much as TGF and Alive did combined. While the album wasn't a commercial success, the band's accompanying tour drew packed houses each night.

I believe that Ed and CCP reached a point where they no longer wanted to work together. Ed wanted to make one style of music, and his bandmates wanted to make another. They also toured basically non-stop the last few years of their existence, and I'm sure grew quite sick of each other.

I believe Ed wanted to focus on his solo work, but still loves the LIVE songs he helped create. The boys weren't sick of LIVE or the music, they were sick of each other.

How many bands, marriages, friendships, or work relationships last 20 years? Not many and there is a reason for it.

If Ed wanted to make a different style of music why does he continually say that Alive is reminiscent of Throwing Copper, the spirit of Live continues with his band, yada, yada, yada. He says he wanted to do something different yet he claims the result is the same as what he did with Live. We all know better.The only truth is that he couldn't work with CCP anymore. Funny how those 3 managed keep things together yet he couldn't. Face it, he wants to be solo. That's what he wants to do differently. He doesn't want to collaborate in a band setting. It's not about making different music to him, although he is clearly not making the same music. I wonder why it's not the same. Hmm...something missing maybe? If he could bust out another TC you know he would. He can't without CCP. The chances of getting something like that are much greater with a new singer that will surrender to the band concept of creating music and embrace the philosophy of Live that's being discussed in that thread.
