I believe that Ed would be more open to collaborating on songs with the band again. Purifier and Believe are two recent examples. Therefore that should have been a choice in the poll as well.

We are up to 26 people and the margin is pretty heavy in the favor of NO ED. I'm guessing those 26 are probably 26 of the most die hard LIVE fans out there so I'd say this is a valid study.

Your proving my point. The 26 people on this site are die hard fans hanging on the words of Chad and the anti Ed shit from years ago. The average Joe is going to be pissed when they show up to see live play songs off tc and it's some new guy. So no, not a valid study of the 26 people on this site. My friends who like them will not go c the new band unless this cd is a monster

BUT with the internet, and wiki and google and boogle and "fuckyougottabefuckingretardednottoknow.com" I can't believe that not one fuck spent that minute (where as technology shows each fuck spends most their life E-something or othering) they did not doogle google who/what/when/where is playing. It takes literally seconds. (though this average Joe might need a few minutes ... but I digress)

And as Live was more a thinking mans rock band I can't see this average Joe being pissed about anything other than the fact that he pissed himself and was at the wrong show.
I don't think there are many average Joe's out there like that listening to Live and not knowing about what has happened in the last few years.

Exactly! You research the band, if you don't then it's not the bands fault you didn't know what you were getting. And why should the casual fan always be catered for and bent over backwards for? Like setlists catered toward them. Reward the more hardcore fan, the reward for having your finger on the pulse and looking into the band that your seeing is avoiding disappointment at not getting what you expected.

Not saying it's the bands fault just think the average casual fan is not going to be interested in a new singer and I understand why the 30 people on this site don't agree. This has nothing to do with tricking the public. That argument is occurring in the Ed section where he is billing himself on alive as former singer. Who are these casual fans you keep referring to? If they aren't on here or Facebook, where are they? Most likely they have fallen off the radar and have done so because their interest level is pretty low. I can't see someone with low interest in Live getting worked up about who the singer is. Like I said, they probably couldn't even identify him. I doubt they care or could tell if they heard something akin to the All Over You version we heard by the new singer. We have yet to hear any new music too. Maybe it will be closer to classic Live than SFBM. Any opinion about it right now is simply speculation. If it does rock like classic Live, then the most causal of Live fans will certainly be fine with it. Even some Ed fans probably would be fine with it but I doubt they'd ever admit it.

The "casual fan" is an intangible that is being used to push an agenda. No one can really identify or define them.

Just like in politics. The "undecided" trying to be factored in when an election has candidates tied. Most of the undecided are people that don't give a shit either way.

Interest in LIVE overall has been fairly low ever since the breakup occurred. Anything but a proper reunion with all four original members most likely won't change that.
