Cornell has one of the best voices in rock in the last 20 years. Just because he's not signing gospel should not be what sways someone into not "feeling it" during a show. If that's what makes you enjoy a show, that's pretty sad.

He probably had a few and posted his honest thoughts about the show via social media.

Do you have a problem with him doing that? You certainly had a problem with CCP posting their honest thoughts. I don't see what the issue is, if Ed didnt like the show he should be free to say so. I actually prefer hearing this sort of stuff from Ed, real unrehearsed responses. Not just cookie cutter replys walking on egg shells not to upset anyone and to sound like a company trying to please sponsors by not rocking the boat. Good on him, shame he deleted the comments.

As for his view, I'm the total opposite, hearing too much about Jesus is why turns me off a gig/singer. Hence a big reason (one of many) that I can't stand Ed's stuff anymore. Not that im a big Cornell fan or anything. Is Cornell known to be Christian? Did Ed go into the gig expecting more Jesus than he got? Seems like a weird thing to do "hmm I think I'll go see Band X and hope they do some praising god songs!". If he's not picking Christian rock gigs to see then he's setting himself up for a lot of disappointment.
So I don't agree with him, but at least he was showing some kind of natural sounding response.

If Ed stated that opinion on his own private FB page, I think that would have been fine. Stating that on his fan page probably wasn't necessary.

I'm happy that he removed the post.

Here is his tweet that I think is still on his twitter feed:

(Ed K.) I just watched Chris Cornell. It didn't touch me in my special place. But then again, only I do that. Lol :-)

I think that is just rude.

For some reason, tweets can't be removed.

That's a bit pretentious to suggest CC should acknowledge a power higher than the Beatles. How does he know he doesn't? Because he didn't play gospel music? Nice way to pass judgement EK. CC is definitely moved by something larger than himself or the Beatles to come out with such soulful music, something EK hasn't done in quite a while. Simply writing about God doesn't mean squat. It's EK that should try to tap into something larger than himself. His ego is out of control.
