I tried listening to it today for the first time in a long time. Maybe 2 years.

I really, really do not like that album. With the exception of "Overcome," nothing, in my opinion, is memorable or worth a 2nd listen (if you're listening to it for the first time and aren't a fan of the band in general).

What was the band trying to prove here? That Ed can rap? Electronics and hip-hop-like hooks and verses? Ed with his long hair and eye-liner? Live can hang with the LA glamour scene with the pretty people?

"OK?" is terrible. "People Like You" has got to be the worst song Live ever stamped their name on and added to an album for public sale. "Deep Enough?" Ughhh. The lyrics on most songs make me cringe.

2001. What a terrible, evil year to begin with. Horrible timing for this album, and just a horrible, thoughtless and uninspiring album overall.

Live should have allowed "Overcome" to be the single it was after 9/11 and put this thing on the shelf for months, just like they are doing now with Song From Black Mountain.

'V' was a great album. In Lives career 'V' was just an album where they just wanted to experiment with and in my view they done it well. Songs like Simple Creed, Like A Soldier, Overcome, Nobody Knows, People Like You and Deep Enough were fantastic songs to mention! Also with Overcome it recieved such good reviews. When 9/11 happened it was the most requested song on the radios and never before (according to an interview) did a song like Overcome hit so many people so hard emotionally.
