Out to Lunch, I came to get news and I find my band left me Options

Hey all:

I've been reading this board for a lot of years, perhaps not in the past year. Real life happens daily and I have been out of touch since the winter. I've seen all the shows, enjoyed the music, and taken the ride down the slippery slope with Live. I was really dedicated and excited with this band once upon a time....2000 Englewood CO show that lasted 40 min in a snowstorm was pretty dedicated!!

Seeing the FOL message angered me but, I am far from surprised as I predicted to myself that the day will happen

If the band sees/reads here..................Old skool fan here. My age has gone past 40 bells and if a hiatus is needed to get these 4 back to the beginning of the circle again, so be it.

I for one will follow Edko, CT, PD & GC and the new stuff to reconfirm why I started listening and following the band since the early 90's

I want to hear the edgy hard driving sound of +Live+ again someday.

I am sure I will perhaps hear Ed do something hard driving again, after he gets his fill with acoustical bliss.

Lets face it, since V, the really fringe fans of Live went away for good......the change to AC and the soft faced falsetto made them leave in droves. I accepted the new Live with a lot of hope. Good stuff in there on Birds I have to admit..........but the Live that riveted me with the chords was waning.

I hope to see them again as the 4.

Listen, bottom line is that Live were in trouble for years. It happens and it shouldn't come as any surprise that people grow apart as they hit 30. Even Chad has said that he had trouble communicating after some time had passed between them getting back together.

People in these positions go back and spend time with their families and return different people. A long time ago, these guys started having thei differences. Ed especially. Stopped hanging with the other 3 and even got his own separate dressing room. They stopped going out after shows and basically went their separate ways on most occasions. Although I'm not completely sure, it seems the same thing happned with the music itself. It was no longer a get together and collaboration, it was a get together, with Ed having written his own music and bringing it in as if it was what was going to come to fruition. That's where some of the communication gaps came in. CT especially had some of his own ideas and they weren't being accepted as possible ideas for the bands upcoming recorded music.

It got to the point where the guys just weren't willing to accept Ed's ideas anymore and let him rule the roost. They did not agree with the music anymore(not that they ever had) and everything finally came to a head. Three albums of complete musical failure was about it. They wanted to be part of the creative influence again, and Ed wasn't letting that happen.

Just look at what CCP created with TGF, and compare it to SFBM....you notice much of a difference there? I think the mistake was not CCP not stopping the buck after V. They let it get too far without communicating to Ed that they weren't happy going that way anymore. And when they did, it blew up. Some of what happened in between, only those guys know and MOST IMPORTANTLY, it's only their business.

I've stopped bagging on Ed completely. I've made up my mind that I lost all respect for him as an artist and a human being. Maybe it's warranted, maybe not. But it's my opinion. I think you all just need to let it rest. If Ed comes back eventually, so be it. For now, he isn't. GEt over it. Will the new Live succeed?? I don't know. But I do know that I'll like it more than the pure garbage we've gotten over the past 3 albums. I want nothing more to do with that. I'm positive that the new brand of music will be a billion times more creative musically.

Will I miss Ed?? Fuck yeah, he was a huge part of this band and I still love his performances of the old catalogue. But his new music sucked completely in every single sense of the word. There was utterly no sense in these four people continuing to make more music that was not successful in any way shape or form.

Support who you support and stop bagging on the other party.
