Out to Lunch, I came to get news and I find my band left me Options

Hey all:

I've been reading this board for a lot of years, perhaps not in the past year. Real life happens daily and I have been out of touch since the winter. I've seen all the shows, enjoyed the music, and taken the ride down the slippery slope with Live. I was really dedicated and excited with this band once upon a time....2000 Englewood CO show that lasted 40 min in a snowstorm was pretty dedicated!!

Seeing the FOL message angered me but, I am far from surprised as I predicted to myself that the day will happen

If the band sees/reads here..................Old skool fan here. My age has gone past 40 bells and if a hiatus is needed to get these 4 back to the beginning of the circle again, so be it.

I for one will follow Edko, CT, PD & GC and the new stuff to reconfirm why I started listening and following the band since the early 90's

I want to hear the edgy hard driving sound of +Live+ again someday.

I am sure I will perhaps hear Ed do something hard driving again, after he gets his fill with acoustical bliss.

Lets face it, since V, the really fringe fans of Live went away for good......the change to AC and the soft faced falsetto made them leave in droves. I accepted the new Live with a lot of hope. Good stuff in there on Birds I have to admit..........but the Live that riveted me with the chords was waning.

I hope to see them again as the 4.

Before you go on like a 9 hour hiatus - just admit that you have been working with Chad before you conveniently appeared in 2009, hating on Ed and elevating C. C. and P by name all before Live even took a break and all hell broke loose, planting seeds for your boss. At least then you wouldn't have to be so nifty about how you suddenly have so much insider info.

That's it isn't it, everyone here just loved Ed and everything he did and SFBM was amazing and then Chad sent evil old OTD over to stir the pot and then everyone started hating on Ed! This is EXACTLY how it went down

Seriously, this is one of the stupidest things I have heard on the board since Nick tried to state that CCP were "copying Ed" by asking people to suggest them as friends on facebook.

OTD is a massively huge Live fan and like a lot of us didn't like the way Ed was taking the band, he loved what Live was and when it became evident that CCP also loved was Live was an wanted to bring that back, well they started gaining a lot more love around here than Ed was, even before the break up. Since then with the effort he's put in to promoting, how close he lives to some of them, and just by simply involving himself in the Live and TGF community he's been able to make friends with the lads. You might be shocked at this but CCP are actual people and they are capable of making friends with people even if those people happen to be fans. And that's what OTD is, cut the conspiracy theory crap.

show me when it became evident prior to the breakup that CCP wanted to bring things back to old Live....honestly i don't remember them suggesting it at all. I remember Chad promoted SFBM saying it was a pop album for the band, no sign of opposition.

I remember CT prior to the break up dropping hints that he wanted Don't Wait to make a return from the dead. If Don't Wait was on SFBM it would have stuck out like dogs balls (but, in a good way).

Of course CT was going to put on a positive spin for the album. It wouldn't exactly help things if Ed was saying it was their best ever album and CT was saying it was their worst. He was doing what he thought was best to save a friendship, save the band and not rock the boat. As I've said, CCP's biggest crime was letting themselves be walked over and eventually they had enough. But when CT began talking about the tension around the time of SFBM and his and CG's feelings towards it post break up, it was just making so much sense and it was reaffirming what a lot of people suspected the case to be all along. But holding CT to things he said about SFBM being great to promote it are shit. I don't even believe Ed really thought it was the best album they ever did (which he also stated back then), hence he's basically dropped everything from it from his set lists.
