He actually is working on a new solo album for next year. However the real money is with LIVE(original members), and it would be foolish to totally close the door on a potential reunion down the line.

Ed knows his time is limited. His solo album was a disaster and he needs Live to make money. No doubt he is doing one more solo album because he knows he can smile and cover Live hits a little longer before he has to swallow his immense pride and come crawling back to Live. He is willing to suffer through another bland album and play with subpar musicians. Anything to delay him having to man up and confront "those individuals" he screwed over.

According to Nick, that is why CCP have started Live back up. According to Nick, TGF was not successful enough and CCP need Live so they can feed their families. The same must be true for Ed.

Ed was more successful touring wise(especially overseas) than TGF were. Ed also can tour solo with just a guitar with little overhead, and TGF didn't have that luxury. That said, I think TGF would still be touring if Kevin Martin didn't put more focus on Candlebox than he did with The Gracious Few.

The fact you can so confidently say that money is the main or sole motivation for CCP bringing back Live, yet World Dreamer makes a post saying that surely you then must also view Ed considering going back to Live in the same way but oh no no, it's not about money for him. Ed can get along "just fine" without Live, but somehow CCP can't? I'll tell you that CCP are doing a lot better off financially than you are, you are in no position to judge their position.

Absolutely Ed getting back with LIVE is about money to some extext. He stands to make more money fronting LIVE than he does with his solo career. However, while a LIVE reunion is possible for the future, at the moment Ed seems happy with his solo career. I don't see a LIVE reunion happening to 2013 at the earliest.

I am sure that CCP are financially better off than I am. However, their current touring revenue with TGF is very low and stands to increase with a reunited LIVE. I think that is a big reason for this new version of LIVE seeing the light of day.
