I agree with Poke& whoever else made note of the fact that 2/3 of the setlist is Live. It's obnoxious that Ed continues to say he's moving all while playing setlists like this. I enjoyed his show, & will probably continue to see him solo, because he is te voice of those Live songs & as long as he teases me with the low end of his range, I'll be addicted to his voice. Yes, he is playing with a cover band now & it's not the same as CC&P, but I can't get the 4 of them together, so I'll take what I can get. When the new Live starts touring & putting out music, I'll be all over that, too. I sincerely hope Eds next solo project makes Alive look like a warm-up (im an optimist) & he eventually phases out the Live songs from his setlists. I'm also a realist, so I doubt it, but fingers crossed. I hate that I find myself an apologetic, reluctant fan of Ed these days. But the show @Musikfest was solidly entertaining. The backup band is getting better & it's been so long since I've seen a great Live show, like I said, I'll take what I can get.
I will just keep dreaming of the 4 of them together...
As a side note, I've been doing an informal survey of my high school classmates. We graduated 95 so we are the ones who bought the first 3 cds as quickly as possible. Only one friend (who, btw has been to shows w me) could give first names of all 4 band members. None knew Eds last name. A few said "the bald guy" I asked if the would notice/care if Live had a new lead singer to which almost all replied "is Live still a band?"
I feel like a new singer might be just want the band needs [honestly what the band needed was better songwriting, but I digress] at this point... They have no where to go but up.
I initially was reluctant to accept a new singer, but 1. It's not up to me & 2.ill take what I can get.
I have shit to do today & typing on my phone sucks.

I agree with a lot of what you said, but I have no interest in seeing him solo or with his band. To me he's not the same performer as he was in his heyday. Being in Live was his only saving grace to me, even then it was pushing it at the end with SFBM and newer songs like Forever. I agree that a new singer might be good for them and stir up a lot of interest. I think it will certainly gain a lot of attention. If it's good it may sort of resurrect them or start a new chapter all together. I think the positives far outweigh the negatives as they certainly were/are not going to do anything with Ed.
